Jebediah

Over the last four or five years, the name Jebediah has somewhat vanished from the national consciousness. From the late Nineties through to the release of 2004s Braxton Hicks, the Perth-based four piece were a group worthy of note; favourites both on Triple J and on stages across the country, they had four stellar albums to their name, including 1997s seminal Slightly Odway, and a formidable live reputation. Then, after a 10th anniversary tour in 2005, Jebediahs sparkling visage disappeared from the public eye into the fogs of time. Youd think guitarist Chris Daymond would be able to account for the bands absence but he cant.

  Cass McCombs
Catacombs
Domino/ EMI

Album number four is a particularly sparse affair for American singer songwriter Cass McCombs. Catacombs isnt exactly what youd call bare, but it is overtly straightforward most songs are heavily focused on McCombs vocals and acoustic guitar, with a little percussion or soft brushed drumming.
