Ben Lee For the first time ever, it seems that the enchanting yet delightfully self-assured Ben Lee has stepped away from controversy. Lee recorded a cover of John Lennon's Woman Is The Nigger Of The World but chose not to include it on his new album 'The Rebirth Of Venus', and will instead only use it as a b-side. "Sometimes when all your family and friends agree in uniform that a song doesn't fit with the rest of the album, even though I really like it, you have to trust their judgement and just go with it."

Titus Andronicus The Airing Of Grievances XL/ Remote Control Titus Andronicus frontman Patrick Stickles is no stranger to airing out his own grievances, chief among them being the constant comparisons he engenders to one Conor Oberst. Such a gripe is understandable as there's no way you'd mistake the dive bar indie punk of Titus Andronicus for Bright Eyes - heart on sleeve lyrics and vocal histrionics paired with a self-consciously ramshackle musical structure and lo-fi recording weren't invented by Oberst, and the Venn diagrams of the two bands overlap only when he is at his most energetic point and Titus their most restrained. | |
