Seun Kuti

On record, Seun Kuti's voice is hoarse; a gruff roar thatcuts through layers of horns, guitars, o ssion easily, his manner is just asrgan and percu direct, getting straight to the point whenever he opens his mouth. It's a good thing too, because fighting against a dodgy phone line from Nigeria and his manager's TV chattering in the background, even that powerful instrument can just make itself understood.

  Andrew Bird
Noble Beast
Spunk

To date classically trained violinist and whistling virtuoso Andrew Bird has produced three solo albums, each bathed in its own uniquely charming thrill. Yet at the age of 35, the Chicago crooner may only just be reaching his prime.

'Noble Beast' is seemingly the album that the adaptive pop genius was always meant to make. Accumulating all of the spectacular aspects of his solo career to date into one release, his magnum opus effortlessly soars so high that the only disappointment is when the fifty-four minutes of Bird's gentle tones and rich harmonies are over.
