Former Child Stars

Of all the shows that make up the inaugural Cooper's Alive, it's fair to say that the indie rock gig at Jive - The Mad Shapes, The Shiny Brights and Former Child Stars - will be the biggest, given both the popularity of the bands and the larger venue. Despite this, as I speak to the headliners, their minds are on more pressing matters. Though they seem quite relaxed, the band are just preparing to head to Sydney to record the follow up to their debut, self-titled EP.

Let me set the scene for ya. It's an ordinary midweek day in the inner city suburbs. The local traffic wafts through the front screen door, the washing machine is bucking against the wall, a hairdryer is whizzing in the next room, and the cat is sunning herself on the welcome mat.
