Prize Frenzy™
And now, the end is near, so as Frenzor_ prepares for the strange summer hibernation that his kind enjoys, it's time to wrap up the prizes for 2008. Wrap them up in brown paper packages, tie them with string, and give them away to anyone with the inclination to ask for them. That means that if your prize is older than six weeks and you haven't collected it by Thursday 18 December, it's up for grabs, and will be gone forever. To get in on the action, call 8231 0881 once the Triple J news theme sounds at 1pm on Fri 19 Dec prepared to answer a question and win your chosen prize.
1. Comeback Kid are coming to town next year as part of the Boys Of Summer tour, alongside Verse, Carpathian and Against, at Fowler's Live on Fri 23 Dec and though they've had their ups and downs, as lead singer Andrew Neufeld tells Will Oakeshott in this issue, they're looking forward to it. You can be part of the action as well, if you want to grab one of three double passes on offer.
2. Puff's still not sure what Brandon Flowers is talking about on Human, but Scott Berry does his best to interpret their latest record, 'Day & Age', in this very edition, and if you want to grab yourself a copy, you'd better be quick.
3. The strange creature known as That 1 Guy is going to be carrying on George Clinton's legacy when he plays at The Promethean on Sat 20 and Sun 21 Dec, freeing both asses and minds, and if you want to get in on the action, just go ahead and ask for a double pass, making sure to specify which show you want to catch.
4. The Sony CD pack is back again, with CDs recommended by dB's reviewers from the likes of Glasvegas, Lenka, Augie March and Kate Miller-Heidke.
5. Tobias Handke took a liking to Kanye West's latest album, saying that minus the hubris and chipmunk soul, '808s & Heartbreak' is the (former?) rapper's best effort yet and thanks to Universal there are three copies on offer.
6. The Black Keys have just about reached the point that they should get a second home in Australia, but as Aaron Farrant found out during his chat with Dan Auerbach, there are still plenty of reasons to go see the band live, and there are three double passes to their show at HQ on Tues 30 Dec on offer.
7. Snow Patrol's latest, 'A Hundred Million Suns', has plenty to recommend it according to Scott Berry, and thanks to Universal there are three copies to give away just in time for Christmas.
8. The famous dB Christmas packages return, enigmas wrapped in mysteries wrapped in riddles wrapped up in brown paper, they're a musical lucky dip, but if you take a gamble you might end up with something surprisingly good (or a U2 tribute album - you decide if it's worth the risk).
9. And finally, Ashley Prigent talks to Katie Noonan about her latest project, 'Blackbird', on which she covers a host of Lennon and McCartney compositions. She's playing at The Festival Centre on Fri 12 Dec, and has kindly offered up three copies of the album as giveaways.

Alexis Buxton-Collins talks to the one and only Chuck D in this edition, and there's no surprise that he's still fighting the power in his own way. What is a pleasant surprise is that Public Enemy might be playing 'It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back' in its entirety when they play at Summer Break in Bonython Park on Sun 28 Feb, and you can get in on that with one of three double VIP passes.

Disclaimer: If you have won a prize this year and have not collected it by noon Friday 12 December, it will be gone forever. Frenzor™ works hard to collect these prizes and if he sees that the winners are undeserving, he gets angry. Real angry. So any prizes not collected will disappear into brown paper packages and be lost forever.
