Free Dr. Pepper for everyone with a US mailing address! Rock icons Guns N' Roses have just released the title track from 'Chinese Democracy'. The full release, all of fourteen years in the making, will hit shelves on Sat 22 Nov. What's more, GnR's management have hinted that 'Chinese Democracy' "is only the beginning" for the lads...
The enigmatic Nick Cave has announced that he shall swagger back to our fair Thebarton Theatre with his Bad Seeds for one show only on Wed 14 Jan. With the country abuzz following the announcement that Nick will be curating and heading 'All Tomorrow's Parties', calls from Adelaide and Perth beckoning for sideshows have not fallen on deaf ears.
The Festival season just keeps growing with the Meredith Music Festival finalising their line up for this summer. Whilst the fest has already sold out (in record time might we add) the likes of Kram, Violent Soho, Even, Mountains In The Sky will now be tempting you to try and jump the fence, which could be a $2750 fine if you get caught might we add.

Australia's Stealing O'Neal and New Zealand's Goodnight Nurse are currently co-headlining a national tour to decide once and for all which our two great nations loves a sheep more. Additional international battlelines have been drawn as Japanese band The Bawdies share the stage with The Basics in a winner takes all Asia-Pacific rhythm & blues beat-em-up national tour at Jive Wed 3 Dec that will have them dancing in the aisles.
Jeff Martin's Armada will set sail on their maiden Australian tour this November, with the former Tea Party front man to be accompanied on deck by Wayne Sheehy and Gareth Forstyth. Their cargo for the journey is their precious debut album from the group only available, at this stage, from their live performances. Adelaidians will have two chances to wrestle in The Armada's stormy seas, on Wed 5 and Thu 6 Nov at Fowler's Live, supported by the Dave Mann Collective.
Melbourne musos Ian Wadley and Chris Smith have two upcoming Adelaide dates consisting of solo and duo performances. In recent years the pair have released recordings both at home and abroad, also collaborating with members of Dirty Three, Jandek and Einsturzende Neubauten and this fortnight's two dates see Smith and Wadley performing together for the first time in several years, with a combination of avant, traditional and rock influenced material at the Grace Emily this Thur 30 Oct with local support Patrick Saracino, and on Fri 31 Oct at Rundle Sreet's Exeter Hotel with local supports.
Two for one value is always a draw card, with local singer/songwriter Jess Atkinson teaming up with The Morning Hours for their respective EP launches. Jess is launching 'The Waterline', influenced by the music of Neil Finn and Ryan Adams whilst 'On A Whim', the debut of Morning Hours draws heavily from The Flaming Lips and Death Cab For Cutie. The combined launch will take place at the Edinburgh Castle Fri 7 Nov, with entry $5 on the door.
Coming to town soon to wreak havoc on the Big Star Basement is Philadelphia noise-rock trio Clockcleaner, joined by Sydney post-punks Naked And Vague for an all ages show on Fri 5 Dec. It'll be a packed house for the gig with support from Hit The Jackpot, Swords and The Fucking Tutts as well as dB's own DJ Lendog tearing up the decks.
The City of Tea Tree Gully will be hosting the all ages Common Ground Battle Of The Bands this Halloween Fri 31 Oct at Golden Grove Arts Centre. An initiate of the City's volunteer group Youth Action, Amber Calling and Friends Of Enemies will headline before three local bands pit themselves against each other for the title. There'll be a best dressed comp as well for all those with a skeleton in closet to slip into. The event will be drug and alcohol free.
Wollongong boys Mary Jane Kelly were set to be the first release on Michael Crafter's (of I Killed The Prom Queen fame) record label. However, media commitments delayed 'Our Streets Turn White' for almost the entire year working the lads into a frenzy which is set to be unleashed upon Underground this Thu 30 Oct. Joining in on the mayhem will be Melbourne's The Abandonment and locals A Fallen Theory.
When a quality line up comes to town, Adelaidians are always keen to get behind it. So, how do Carl Cox, Sneaky Sound System and Paul Van Dyk sound? Well, they're just the headliners of this years Stereosonic festival hitting Bonython Park Sat 29 Nov. The Prime Minister is keen to see us interact more with China. Taking this on board, Truth Corroded are set to become Australia's first ever metal band to tour the country this November. They've even released their latest album 'Upon The Warlords Crawl' through Singapore label Mourning Sound Records. Good on them for doing their bit for international relations.

Perth trio Tame Impala have received a lot of press following the release of their debut EP earlier this month with Triple J jumping on the bandwagon to support the boys on their national tour this November. Rocket will host the lads on Thu 27 Nov before the band jumps on MGMT's touring bus for December.

Augie March and Dan Kelly & The Ukeladies will be in town Thu 13 Nov at The Gov. Dan recently took time off recording his third album to collaborate with The Ukeladies on yet another timely song of skewed wit with 'The S.U.V. Song', an ode to the slowly sinking Samoan and Tuvaluan islands, available for free download from his website.

Just in time for the festive season, Tripod have announced the release of 'For The Love Of God', their own special contribution to Christmas 2008. The comedy trio will also be touring this December, set to play at The Gov on Wed 10 Dec for one night only. There'll be Santa, Jesus, reindeer and baubles. Very Christmassy!

On Sun 23 Nov, ithat'll all change with the Whitmore Square Arts Fair, featuring the work of over 40 South Australian artists, art workshops and a free concert with Brillig, The Sea Thieves and Cookie Baker.
Brillig shall return to their beloved Grace Emily for the Halloween launch of their 'Jack Davey' EP on Fri 31 Oct, though there'll be no need for ghosts, ghouls or gargoyles - the four piece gothic folkist's are haunting enough. The Prospect Community Garden is aiming to grow organic vegies and use the produce and donations of foodstuffs to cook meals on a weekly basis for those in need, but not everything they need grows on trees, so they're holding a fundraiser to help set everything up. Taking place at Live ON Light Square on Sun 9 Nov, entry is $5 and it features God God Dammit Dammit, Miss Golly Gosh, Obdurate Seduction and Megan.
After spending the last 12 months writing and recording, Behind Crimson Eyes have announced a headlining national tour to plug their upcoming new album set for release in March 09. ARIA winners The Panics will soon be in Adelaide as a part of their 'Get Us Home' tour. After taking the gong for Best Adult Contemporary Album, the lads will finish the current tour before embarking overseas to begin recording their next album. See them while you can on Sat 29 Nov at The Gov.
After bringing out Daft Punk for their first Australian visit, Modular wisely decided that there was no way they could top last year's Nevereverland event. Instead, that canny mob decided to throw their own tenth birthday party, which will feature a bunch of Modular artists like The Presets, Klaxons, Cut Copy, Ladyhawke and Van She alongside a few friends like Hercules & The Love Affair. Unfortunately, it won't be making it to Adelaide, but across a couple of weekends in December, it'll take in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
On the back of extensive UK and European touring (33 shows to be exact), Pivot are returning down under to launch their new single, the title track from their 'O Soundtrack My Heart' album released earlier this year. Their unique combination of electronica, glitch and cathartic rock was enough to attract the attention of UK label Warp Records, who signed the group, and they'll be playing at Rocket Bar Fri 21 Nov.
Who can resist a single entitled 'Girt By Piss'? If you can't, head to Electric Light on Sun 2 Nov to catch Perth rock quintet 11th He Reaches London for an intimate performance which is hopefully not as intimate as their song title suggests.
Local five-piece Skye Harbour would be buzzing after taking out the MTV Kickstart Competition, beating off some stiff competition from around Australia to fly our local flag. As a part of their prize the band recently found themselves on the red carpet at the ARIAs, where they no doubt took full advantage of the music industry highlife well into the morning. Now based in Melbourne, the group is working hard to build upon their 'Houses' EP and will be travelling with Black Market Rhythm Co. during late November.
Here's a bit of trivia. Travistock Street was once a vibrant strip of the Adelaide CBD until it became a part of Frome Rd in the 1960s. Garage/ psychers Green Circles have paid homage to this bygone strip, choosing it as the name for their third studio album, to be launched at the Grace Emily on Fri 7 Nov, coinciding with band's current residency each Friday of that month.
Massachusetts had a significant role in this years U.S. presidential primaries. Most of this was lost on Smoke Or Fire as they jumped the border to Virginia to kick start their career in the underground punk scene. The group is currently touring Oz for the first time, and will share the stage with Daysworth and The Grenadiers at Enigma on Thu 30 Oct.
Indie sensation The E.L.F. (Darren Cross of Gerling) is currently touring to launch his sophomore EP 'Sunray In The Rave Cave'. For those who didn't catch him at Rocket Bar on Oct 25, he's got another show Fri 31 Oct before he heads home for a well-earned rest.
If springtime makes you horny, then it's the right time to head to the Jolly Miller to perve on some hot rock stars. COCK, Toxic Shock, The Scarves, Ricochet Pete and Zelorage will provide the eye candy on Sat 1 Nov for those feeling like some boom boom, long time, five dollar loving before the summer kicks in.
Will you be at home Thu 6 Nov revving yourself up for the last day of work and the weekend to follow? Well, if you are and you're gonna be planted on the couch in front of the box, ABC1 are screening an insightful doco on Johnny O'Keefe called 'The Wild One' at 9.30pm. Puff just thought we'd let you know.
Lagwagon better have their postal votes in, because they're gonna be touring whilst the rest of the world holds our breath to see whether or not the U.S. make the right choice for President this time. Punk and politics are of course worlds apart and Puff is sure the lads won't be focussing on the latter when they play Fowlers Tue 25 Nov for an all ages gig with The Brews and Third Time Lucky.
Zac of the Jade Monkey is breaking his own taboo and playing a Sea Thieves solo set in his own backyard on Fri 31 Oct. The reason? Well, old band mates Hope Diamond have just polished a stellar new EP called 'Costume Drama' which will be launched on the night, capped off by the guitar stylings of Horse & Cart.
The Sack, Angelik and The What 4 will be out in force to rock the Grace on Sat 1 Nov and it's all free, free, free!
Puff's first encounter with British house music was through the delightfully tripped film Human Traffic of the mid-Nineties. Beni G and Plus One represent everything there is to love about the new wave of house from the motherland, with the duo set to bounce into the Crown and Sceptre Thu 30 Oct waving the Jack Beats fresh off the European scene.
