Local drum and bass promotors/ DJs/ retailers Inbound are celebrating their 10th birthday in the middle of next month. Come wish them happy birthday on Sat 19 July at the Crown & Sceptre. The Sceptre hosted the first Inbound show in 1998, and the lineup is sure to be a collection of Adelaide's most-loved drum and bass selectors.

French dance favourites Daft Punk are said to be back in the studio again, according to Ed Banger label head and ex-manager Busy P. The duo's most recent album 'Human After All' was generally considered a bit of a failure, but their recent world tour restored the faith of anybody that was lucky enough to attend a set. What the new record's going to sound like is anyone's guess. At this point, Busy P says that "they're taking their time, but they have a right to".

Is this the end of The Streets? After cancelling his walk to France (due to overlooked tour dates), Mike Skinner has announced not only that the next LP to be released will be titled 'Everything Is Borrowed', but also that the following one will be "dark and Berlin-influenced"... and the Streets' last. That should still be a year or two off now, so whether it will or not remains to be seen.

There's a truckload of Prefuse 73 news floating around at the moment - his recently formed band Risil is releasing a vinyl-only LP. The band is comprised of Prefuse himself, as well as members from drone-metal band Sunn 0))), ex-Triosk member Laurence Pike, and members from Hella and other bands. With such a varied lineup the record should be at least interesting, and if you can't find a vinyl copy there will be tracks on the group's Myspace soon. Prefuse 73 is also working on a new solo album and another with his quiet, psych-latin project Savath & Savalas.

50 Cent got his chain yanked... literally. At one of his shows in Angola, a fan jumped onto the stage and ripped the chain from around the rapper's neck. Naturally, there's footage on YouTube to watch if you find the event as funny as I do.

There have been a few good drum and bass mixes under Harmless Records' 'Watch The Ride' series lately, notably from High Contrast and TC. Next in line for one of these mixes is drum and bass veteran Goldie. Having founded the enormous Metalhedz record label and signed some of the biggest names in drum and bass, it's not surprising that the mix doesn't let up. Featureing tracks from artists like Noisia, D-Bridge, DJ Die and Shy FX, if you like the harder, darker drum and bass then track this one down.

After a disappointing turnout at Stone's Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf's audio-visual extravaganza on June 6, rumours have began circulating, regarding another Stone's Throw artist later in the year... Mention has been made that Wildchild will be gracing our shores around September or October. Still shadier sources, however, have hinted at the likes of Royce Da 5'9" as well...
