Prize Frenzy™

With winter encroaching, all of Frenzor's™ friends and family have begun to make the preparations for hibernation, but there's no rest for Adelaide's hardest working harbinger of doom. Right through the depths of winter, Frenzor™ will be doling out prizes on the regular, and with less sunshine in which to make hay it's no wonder that nobody's seen him for a while. He'll be around on Friday though, just as the Triple J news begins at 1pm, and if you want one of the prizes this fortnight, you'll take that as your cue to call (08) 8231 0881.

1.Peeking out from the cover of this edition, you'd be forgive for thinking that Clare Bowditch is the quiet, retiring type but Clementine Ford busts that idea in her interview with the charming singer-songwriter. In town on Fri 20 June for a solo show, dB has three double passes to give away.

2. So you read Aaron Schuppan's review of 'Alien Apocalypse' and 'Man With The Creaming Brain' on the back page and thought to yourself, 'those movies both sound mighty silly, but it probably would be pretty fun to watch them'? Well, if you've got a sense of humour you'd be right, so grab one of five packs with a copy of each thanks to Via Vision.

3. Alistair Wallis has an illuminating chat with Robert Forster in this edition about his late songwriting partner Grant McLennan as well as his new solo album, 'The Evangelist', and if you want to hear what it sounds like then there's no better way than asking for one of the five copies that EMI have made available

4. Aztec have just released a box set of Universal Film Noir featuring four films from the heyday of the genre (three with Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake), and we've got one copy of the complete set for the first caller.

5. So you've been listening to MGMT on the radio lately, and you think they're alright but want to see If they can hold an entire album together. Well today's your lucky day because thanks to Sony/ BMG we have five copies of their album 'Oracular Spectacular' to give away.

6. Will Oakeshott found The Devil Wears Prada guitarist Jeremy DePoyster to be a thoroughly likeable young man during their interview, which appears in this edition, but it's the band's music that gets him really excited, and you can join him with one of two double passes to their show at Fowler's Live on Sun 1 June.

7. Steve Jones talks with Craig Egan about the Raw Comedy on offer at the Highway Inn at Plympton. If you need a double pass to the Wednesday evening sessions of Raw Comedy, this is the place.

Online Frenzy™

Punk stalwarts The Dropkick Murphys have been around for a while now, and so have their friends from across the hardcore divide, Sick Of It All. Together they'll be touring on Fri 30 May at Live On Light Square, and if you head online to www.dbmagazine.com.au, you'll have the chance to answer the question there and earn yourself one of two double passes.

Everyone knows that The Dropkick Murphys are one of the world's premier Celtic punk bands, but name another one that has featured in the magazine recently and send your answer to frenzy@dbmagazine.com.au
