·The hardcore political/conscious rapper Paris is coming to Adelaide on Friday the 8th of August at HQ, with label mate T-KASH, as well as DJ True Justice and Def Jukie C-Rayz Walz. Should be a night of angry, violent, Bush-hating hip-hop, so if you're down for some politically-motivated hip-hop make sure you get there on the night. For those who don't know him, Paris is similar to Immortal Technique (who, if you're wondering, has never been to Australia because of felony convictions).

Also at HQ, but on June the 6th and in the cosy Gabrielle's Room bar, Stone's Throw head honcho Peanut Butter Wolf will be playing an audio-visual set alongside DJ J-Red and Staen-1. Those who caught PBW when he appeared here with Madlib a few years ago should know what to expect, and so should anyone else who's listened to underground hip-hop lately. Seriously, this guy signed J-Dilla. It's $35. Just go.

A Devil Amongst The Tailors, when written as an acronym, is the same as the title of Lowrider's album, 'Diamond Amongst the Thieves'. This is almost entirely irrelevant, except that both are local, and on June the 14th A Devil Amongst the Tailors will join Lowrider in having released a debut album this year. I also screwed myself, since I now can't use the acronym and have to type out an excessively wordy band name. Anyway: Aussie hip-hop, Crown and Sceptre. They're a good group, and any alternatives to the Obese-dominated Aussie hip-hop scene are worth supporting.

All kinds of hardcore are enjoying a massive deal of support here at the moment, and System 6 is one of the most successful groups to put on hardcore parties in Adelaide. Award winning and generally enjoyed, the crew is this time teaming up with promotion group Turbofunk to bring the wittily titled System 6 vs Turbofunk party to Earth Nightclub on Friday, 6th of June. Incidentally it's the Queen's Birthday weekend, so celebrate our Monarchist roots to the sounds of house, drum'n'bass, psy and all kinds of hard styles from the likes of Freestyle (Perth), Mike Hunt (Melbourne), and an enormous local lineup. All three rooms of Earth are open for the night and it's only $15.

Trancemit is returning to Adelaide, at Earth Nightclub from the 14th of June onwards. Not only a monthly night for hard trance and house, but every month the night offers a 1-hour DJ set to an upcoming hardstyle DJ. But wait, there's more - they'll also select one particularly impressive newcomer for a permanent spot on their lineup, including international guest supports. Send your demo to PO B0X 134, Brompton SA 5007 with your name and contact details.
