7 things to do in Adelaide this week...

1. The trans:mission program at the Adelaide Festival Centre is presenting an exclusive Adelaide season of the Paco Pe–a Flamenco Dance Company. They'll perform in the Festival Centre on Sun 1 June, presenting a program entitled 'A Comp‡s! To the Rhythm', which highlights the power and passion of Southern Spain's song, dance and music.

2. 'Paper Cuts' is - funnily enough - a selection of paper cuts and collage works, hand dawn brooches and screen print textiles, fashioned by Pattern House designer Amy Prior, and now on display at A Room Of Her Own, Elizabeth Street, Croydon.

3. There is currently an exhibition on show at the ArtImages Gallery on The Parade at Norwood, and it features new work from artists Eliza Piro, Randall Sach and Craig Penny. Unfortunately, the name of the exhibition was not transmitted to your correspondent, perhaps it's a secret. The image is C Penny's Adelaide Yacht Club.

4. The book 'Art In The Biotech Era' is edited by Melentie Pandilovski and published by the Experimental Art Foundation, which explains why it's to be launched at the EAF on Thurs 15 May in the bookshop. Pandilovski's book brings together artists and writers from many diverse positions.

5. The Australian Ballet is in town, performing 'French Connections' at the Festival Centre from Fri 23 May. For a limited season only...

6. The Therry Dramatic Society presents a story of high society and all its foibles in Paris in 'Gigi', Directed by Loriel Smart and opening at the Arts Theatre in Angas Street on Thurs 5 June.

7. The Newland Gallery in Port Adelaide hosts the combined exhibition of Margaret Worth and Toyotake Yamauchi in 'In The Top Paddock', open from Thurs 15 May.
