Aid Concert Aid
Hooray For Everything
The Garden Shed

Until Sat 15 March

After announcing that they're here to organise a charity event in support of aid concerts due to the fact that such gatherings rarely achieve their goal of raising any real lasting awareness or correctly channeled money, Brisbane comedy trio Hooray For Everything now, via use of a video screen, busy themselves rousing up interest from both bands and sponsors.

With one hit wonders The Early Birds, best known for their controversial anti-Vietnam War anthem, Bang Bang, the HFE team demonstrate an astute flair for subtlety witted satire which flowed naturally within their obvious politically incorrect (read: political and factually incorrect) songs of the early 'seventies with The 'Birds more interested in selling merchandise than any contemporary issues.

Hip Hop Hooray appeared with the aim of plugging said soda throughout their set before environmental folkies, The Teresa Fallen Trio wind up the show with their misguided opposition to whaling and cosmetic testing on rabbits.

Showing a clear disdain for The Veronicas and blaming Gough Whitlam for almost everything except the assassination of John Lennon (there the Woodstock love children were ultimately responsible), the eventual message here is how egos, corporate interference and greed can soon corrupt all good intentions.

I guess while all those wrongs will never add up to being right, one thing for sure: Hooray For Everything were spot on for providing plenty of continuous laughs. Great fun.
