Prize Frenzy™

It's week two of Frenzor's™ Famous Fringe Frenzy, and things are beginning to get nasty. The weekly schedule has taken its toll on all the dB staffers, and with no-one else to take it out on, the long suffering Frenzor™ has borne the brunt of their ire. And yet somehow, like a berserker falling under the red mist, he seems utterly unable to stop giving, in fact has redoubled his efforts to shower Adelaide with gifts - or at least, those resourceful enough to track him down by calling 8231 0881 at 1pm (not a second earlier, mind you) on Friday 29 February.

1. 'Every Film Ever Made' is one comic troupe's attempt to act out, surprisingly enough, every film ever made over the course of each show. As entertaining as it sounds, Frenzor's™ going to give it a miss just in case they try to include 'The Neverending Story 3', but that's no reason for you to miss out on one of five double passes to the show on Wed 5 Mar at The Pod in the Garden of Unearthly Delights.

2. It's not so very long until Kelly Clarkson arrives in town to play at the Entertainment Centre with Sean Kingston and Mandy Moore (it's happening on Mon 3 March, to be precise), and so it only seems fitting to provide five excited audience members with a copy of her latest album, 'My December' to make sure that they can sing along to every word.

3. Promising more gaudy costume changes than a Kylie concert, the beauty school dropouts presenting 'The Grease Lightning Drag Show' talk big, and their larger than life show backs up the hubris. There are three double passes to the performance on Sun 2 Mar available.

4. Jack Johnson may seem like a laid-back kind of guy. In fact, it would be hard to form any other impression of him from outward appearances, but it's always the quiet ones you have to watch. So don't make him mad by missing his show at memorial Drive on Thurs 27 Mar - grab one of the two double passes that Frenzor™ has thanks to Mad Dog Publicity.

5. Zack Adams is sick of waiting to see whether he'll make it in show business or not, so he's done what any sensible person would do - travel to the future to find out. It must have look alright, because he's still performing and he'll be talking all about the experience in his show 'A Vision Of My Future Self'. There are five double passes to the opening night on Tue 4 Mar.

6. Scott Berry liked Vampire Weekend's debut self-titled album. He liked it a whole lot - so much so that he's willing to wager that you will to. The stake? One of two copies of that very CD. Even Frenzor's™ been heard humming a few snatches of the catchy release, so take up the bet at your own peril.

7. There are so many things that Frenzor™ could choose to say about Karen Dunbar, who he remembers well from his days as a hatchling back in Scotland, but any attempts to get him near a computer have resulted in singed screens and melted keyboards. So unless you want to volunteer to have him whisper in your ear, his thoughts will remain a mystery, as will his reasons for not using the three doubles to her show on Mon 3 Mar himself.

8.When Mark Liebelt calls a CD 'creamy', it's got to be something special, and if you flick to the back of this magazine, you'll find that that's the very adjective he used to describe K.D. Lang's latest album. If you're still trying to figure out what it sounds like, grab one of the five copies available thanks to Warner.

9. From the lofty perch here at dB central, it's a mere hop, skip and a jump across the road to Caos Cafˇ, but when French singer and Celtic harp player Cecile Corbel plays there, you can bet that the journey will take even less time than it sounds. And two lucky callers will join us there for her shows on Fri 29 Feb and Sat 1 Mar.
