Prize Frenzy™

As the second month of the new year dawns, everyone in Adelaide begins to get excited in anticipation of Frenzor's(tm) Festival Freebie Frenzy(tm), which means he has to clean out his lair to make room for all the goodies that will soon be stocking it. To lay your hands upon a share of the outgoing booty, make sure to call 8231 0881 at 1pm on Friday 8 February and help Frenzor(tm) make some room.

1. Looking pretty on the cover of dB this very issue are Okkervil River, whose singer Will Sheff Canning spoke to the genial Alistair Wallis about the upcoming Laneways Festival at Fowler's Live on Sat 23 Feb and Frenzor(tm) has three double passes to the show to give away.

2. It was no surprise when the 'Dirty Three' DVD turned out to be a documentary about the band of that very name, but Lenin Simos was plenty impressed by it anyway. You can read his review in this very edition before grabbing one of three copies thanks to Madman Entertainment.

3. Sonic Youth may have been getting all the attention because they're playing 'Daydream Nation' in its entirety, but don't forget that they'll be ably supported at their show on Fri 22 Feb by the mighty Scientists. Catch both bands on this highly anticipated double bill by calling in and claiming one of three double passes thanks to the fine folk at Feel Presents.

4. There were plenty of disappointed folks when Velvet Revolver were forced to cancel their tour at the end of last year, but the good news is that Slash has brought the band back as soon as he could. And because he feels bad about making the fine folk of Adelaide wait, he's generously passed on five double passes to the show on Wed 20 Feb at the Thebarton Theatre.

5. You don't need a supercomputer and staff of thousands of highly trained specialists to find out that Interpol are playing at the Thebby on Tue 26 Feb, but you will need to use your most persuasive tone of voice if you want one of Frenzor's(tm) three double passes to the event.

6.EMI think that they've got a pretty smashing line-up of Australian artists on their roster, and who is Frenzor(tm) to argue when they can boast acts like Faker, Operator Please, Kisschasy, The Cat Empire and Angus & Julia Stone? But when Frenzor(tm) found five CD packs containing each artist's latest album, he knew there was simply no room for them, so he's spreading the word and allowing you the chance to enjoy them.

Online Frenzy™

St. Valentine's Day is fast approaching, but it's not all chocolates and roses for everybody so, as every year, there is the D&D (formerly Desperate and Dateless) Ball featuring Tina Cousins on Sat 8 Feb for those who haven't given up on meeting someone. Frenzor(tm) has two double passes to the event to give away to the people who can serenade him and win his heart via e-mail. Send your attempts to

frenzy@dbmagazine.com.au with your name, e-mail address and the key to unlocking Frenzor'™ heart..
