Prize Frenzy™
How does Frenzor™ love Australia, let him count the ways... Though a fearsome beast who is subject to the rule of no-one, male or female, Frenzor™ has chosen to make his home in Australia due to their once lenient working dragon immigration laws, and enjoys celebrating his good fortune once a year by doleing out giveaways to his worthy fellow citizens. But because Australians love a sporting contest, you must duck underneath his razor sharp claws and avoid his fearsome fire breath to call 8231 0881 on Friday 25 January at 1pm to take your pick from the following.
1. Australian albums don't come much more classic than Died Pretty's 'Doughboy Hollow'. Blake Lewis chats to guitarist Brett Myers about their 'Don't Look Back' gig when they will play the album in its entirety at the Governor Hindmarsh on Thurs 14 Feb and thanks to the ever generous Feel Presents, there are three double passes to give away.
2. Mum's 'Go Go Smear The Poison Ivy' is probably among the more imposing album titles you're likely to hear in the near future, but the music is far more accessible, and thanks to Inertia, we have two copies of the album to give away.
3. Australian free jazz and improv kings The Necks play at the Governor Hindmarsh on Sun 3 Feb, and two lucky callers will be swaying wildly once they win one of the double passes we have to give away.
4. 'By The People, For The People' may be a phrase intimately associated with a country across the Pacific Ocean, but it's also the title that Mudvayne have used for their collection of demos, and they've personally given Frenzor™ five copies to give away to lucky callers.
5. It's many years since Frenzor's™ rap crew Straight Outta Brompton spectacularly failed to make a dent on the fickle music industry, but less than the 20 that have passed since N.W.A. released their similarly titled debut proper. Three lucky callers will be able to get their hands on a copy of 'Straight Outta Compton" thanks to EMI.
6. Peter Strelan was pretty darn impressed with the 'Across The Great Divide' tour when it rolled into town with two of Australia's biggest bands of the last decade, so it made sense that he would also enjoy the DVD. Turns out, he surprised no-one by doing exactly that, and three lucky callers will have the opportunity to be similarly unsurprised.
Online Frenzy™
The Bondi Cigars know a thing or two about Australia Day, and they'll be imparting their wisdom to the folks at Port Augusta's Sporting Club on the big day, but the night before that, they have a show at the Governor Hindmarsh. To win one of three double passes to the show on Fri 25 Jan, simply e-mail frenzy@dbmagazine.com.au with your name, e-mail address and the answer to the question found in the online Prize Frenzy.
