Prize Frenzy™!
If you were not lucky enough to win an oversized stuffed animal at the Royal Adelaide Show last week, then here's a few prizes to tempt. And it's not almost impossible to take home something either - all you have to do is call 8231 0881 at 1pm on Friday 21 September and tell us what yer fancy.
1. Gigantour, the brainchild of Megadeth frontman and guitarist Dave Mustaine, is coming to Adelaide for the first time this year, so you won't want to be anywhere else but Thebarton Theatre on Mon 12 Nov. Brad Holland spoke to the man himself and, thanks to the lovely folk at Roadrunner, we have five copies of Megadeth's recent release 'United Abominations' to hand over.
2. Also on the Gigantour line-up is Lacuna Coil - Mark Grimshaw chats to the beautiful and talented vocalist Cristina Scabbia this issue. For all those fans out there, we have two amazing prize packs consisting of Lacuna Coil's entire back catalogue (4 CDs), with a big thank you to Century Media.
3. Scott Berry caught up with Ben Lee about his latest CD 'Ripe' out now on Inertia, who have kindly dished out five copies to give away. You can also read Scott's thoughts on the disc in the CD review pages.
4. Jamie Treays aka Jamie T is heading back to Oz, this time with his band The Pacemakers - you can catch 'em at The Gov on Thurs 4 Oct after reading Ashley Prigent's interview. We have two prize packs to give away, each with a double pass to the show and a copy of his debut album 'Panic Prevention', thanks to Mad Dog Publicity.
5. Lucky bugger Steve Jones talked for over an hour with Dweezil Zappa, son of Frank, about the upcoming 'Zappa Plays Zappa' tour featuring Ray White and Steve Vai, which hits Thebarton Theatre on Sun 2 Dec. And thanks to Blue Murder, we have two double passes to give away.
6. The Grinners are back stronger than ever with their latest album 'Alibis & Other Lies' - Ashley Prigent chats to drummer Kristian Hopes this issue. They're playing HQ on Thurs 4 October and we have two double passes to give away to said show, as well as two signed copies of the disc, thanks to Universal and the band.
7. Fiona Stafford had a good yarn with Young & Restless frontwoman Karina this issue, and we have two double passes to the show (Fri 5 Oct at Enigma Bar, 18+) and two copies of their self-titled debut to hand over. A big thanks to Dot Dash for this one.
8. Blues crooner Mia Dyson is back with a new album and national tour - she launches 'Struck Down' at The Gov on Sat 6 Oct. Suzi Gunn does the interview this issue and thanks to Dyson and Two Fish Out Of Water, we have three CDs and three double passes to give away.
9. Thanks to Inertia, we have three copies of Unkle's album 'War Stories' to hand over. Check out Leo Varona's interview with James Lavelle this issue.
10. And, thanks to Universal, we have three copies of Queen's Of The Stone Age's 'Era Vulgaris', which is our feature album this fortnight. Read Monika Laskowski's thoughts in the CD review pages.
