7 things to do in Adelaide this week...
1. Coming up in Oct: the bloke who used to be on Triple J and on the 'telly' as the thong-wearing host of 'The Glasshouse', Wil Anderson, will be performing his new show 'Wil Of God' at the Arts Theatre from Thurs 4 to Sat 6 Oct. You might need to book early.
2. On The Nature Of Creativity' is an audio-visual presentation with photographer Ian Lloyd and art critic John McDonald at the Art Gallery of South Australia. Sat 8 Sept at 2pm. 'How do you make a great painting?' is the question they pose, and presumably attempt to answer. Tickets are $20 and spaces are likely to be limited.
3. The ASO proudly presents the return of the legendary Roger Woodward to the Adelaide concert stage, when he joins them onstage from Thurs 27 until Sat 29 Sept at Adelaide Town Hall.
4. Join in on a musical journey with The Beggars and hear what the rest of the world is already tuning into when The Beggars sing their heads off, on Sat 22 Sept from 8.30pm at The Singing Gallery in McLaren Vale.
5. Digital Image maker Harvey Schiller will have his exhibition 'Detours Re-Routed' on display at the Rising Sun Inn in Kensington from Sat 8 Sept.
6. The Kegelstatt Piano Quartet present 'Grandeur', or 'Great Cathedrals of Sound by Mahler, Schnittke and Brahms' from 3pm on Sun 23 Sept at St John's Church, Halifax Street, in Adelaide.
7. Syntony will present 'Fire', the third in their 2007 Alchemy Series, on Sat 8 Sept at 6.30pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Works include Claudio Monteverdi's Lamento D'Arianna, works by Adelaide composers Raymond Chapman Smith and Becky Llewellyn, Clement Janequin's La Guerre and two works by the infamous Carlo Gesualdo.
