Prize Frenzy™!

There's been some fine tours announced recently, and a lot of Aussie artists to boot! Just check out our cover this issue to see two fine Australian acts - the John Butler Trio and 67 Special. This fortnight Frenzette has been frantically putting together a nice line-up of prizes with Aussie fare running on high, and a few international acts thrown in for good measure. To try your hand, call 8231 0881 at 1pm on Friday 24 August and tell us what takes your fancy.

1. If you missed out on getting tickets to both of The John Butler Trio's sold out shows, there's still hope to see the man himself in action. Suzi Gunn spoke to cover boy Butler this issue about life, family and being an independent artist and, thanks to Phil Stevens Management, we have three double passes to the Sunday 26 Aug show at Thebarton Theatre.

2. And to keep the theme going, we have five copies of The John Butler Trio's third studio album 'Grand National' to give away, thanks to the lovely folk at Jarrah Records and Phil Stevens Management.

3. Young and Restless don't really need an introduction and they've certainly taken us by storm with their debut self-titled album, so much so that it's our feature disc this issue. You can read Lauren Connelly's thoughts in the CD review pages and thanks to Remote Control we have three of them to hand over.

4. New Zealand rockers Cut Off Your Hands are coming to Adelaide on Fri 7 Sept playing at Rocket Bar with Teenagersintokyo on the back of their new EP 'Blue On Blue'. Alistair Wallis chats to vocalist Nick Johnston this issue and we have two double passes to the show to give away thanks to Speak n Spell.

5. Ashley Prigent speaks to cover lads 67 Special this issue about their latest effort 'The Devil May Care' and their upcoming national tour which will see them grace our city on Sat 15 Sept at Jive. Thanks to the band, we have three double passes to the show to hand over.

6. And, thanks to Warner, we have four copies of 'The Devil May Care' to give away. Giddy up.

7. Mr De Backer has done it again with his recent release 'Mixed Blood', a collection of remixes, covers and reinterpretations by other artists of Gotye's work. Brian O'Neill gives it his thoughts in the CD review pages and we have five copies to give away, thanks to Meiyu Group.

8. The lovely Katie Noonan of George fame has just dropped her solo effort 'Skin'. Brian O'Neill chats to Katie this issue about all things music (and peanut butter sandwiches), and thanks to Warner we have five copies to the CD to give away.

9. Mike Cross chats to vocalist Shagrath from controversial Norwegian band Dimmu Borgir this issue, and we have three copies of their latest disc 'In Sorte Diaboli' to give away thanks to Riot.

10. Henry Rollins brings his speaking tour and chat show to DVD with 'Uncut From NYC' and 'The Henry Rollins Show (Season One)' 3 DVD set. Blake Lewis speaks with Rollins this issue, and we have two copies of each DVD to give away thanks to MRA Entertainment.

11. Dee Dee Bridgewater and her quintet will perform two exclusive shows at Her Majesty's Theatre on Tues 4 and Wed 5 Sept as part of the Festival Centre's Transmission series. You can read Brett Allen-Baye's interview with Dee Dee this issue, and we have a double pass for the Wed 5 performance, thanks to the Festival Centre.

Online Frenzy

Melbournian trio Midnight Juggernauts are riding the success of their debut album 'Dystopia' and have recently embarked on an Australian tour. Ashley Prigent speaks to Andy Juggernaut this issue about recording, touring and international stardom, and thanks to Shiny Entertainment we have two signed copies of their CD to hand over. To win, all you have to do is email your contact details to frenzy@dbmagazine.com.au and tell us - what kind of album does Andy suggest the band will make next?
