Prize Frenzy™!

The cold weather has officially set in, and so unfortunately has the dreaded lurgy. But there's no stopping FrenzetteTM, who has been very busy gathering (in between coughing and spluttering) a whole bagful of lovely things for you all. Now it's time for her to rest her pretty little head... Check out what she has rustled up below, then call 8231 0881 at 1pm on Friday 18 May and fight for your place:

1. Groove Armada's new album 'Soundboy Rock' is out now on SonyBMG, and you can get Brian O'Neill's take on it in the CD review pages. He reckons it's pretty darn good, and so too does SonyBMG who have been kind enough to hand over five copies to give away.

2. Arctic Monkey's second album, 'Favourite Worst Nightmare', is out now in stores and is just as good as their first according to Peter Strelan. Check out Peter's thoughts in the CD review pages, and then judge for yourself by winning one of our five giveaway copies, thanks to our good friends at EMI.

3. Will Oakeshott thinks Alexisonfire is one of the hottest Canadian screamo outfits around at the moment. Make up your own mind at the all ages show on Friday 25 May at HQ where Alexisonfire play with Moneen (Canada) and Blindspott (New Zealand). Thanks to Scorpion Entertainment we have two double passes up for grabs.

4. Ex-Adelaideans Girls And Adam are coming home for a three show tour to promote their upcoming debut EP - you can read all about the band in Steve Jones' interview. We have two double passes to one of the shows on Friday 18 May at the Jade Monkey, thanks to Girls And Adam themselves.

5. For their biggest fans it's been a long and excruciating few years, but Silverchair's latest release 'Young Modern' has been well worth the wait. Thanks to EMI we have five of these babies to give away. Steve Jones thinks it hits the spot, see if you agree.

6. Sneaky Sound System have been riding a wave of success of late, which you can read all about in Julian Cram's interview - they're playing at the Dom Polski Centre on Saturday 19 May. In the meantime, you can groove along to their self-titled album at your own leisure by putting up your hand for one of the three copies kindly sent to us by Anouk Van Meeuwen Publicity. Now you'll never get that ridiculously catchy song Pictures out of your head.

7. If you like bizarre comedy, then this may float your boat - we have five copies of the 'The Amazing Johnathan Live' DVD up for grabs, thanks to A-list Entertainment. Find out more about in Steve Williams' review.

8. New York trio Blonde Redhead are coming to our shores in July, alas not to Adelaide. Never fear - we have three copies of their latest album '23' to cheer you up, thanks to Remote Control. To find out if it's your cup of tea, you can read Brian O'Neill's words in the CD review pages.

9. Matt Hutchinson, vocalist-guitarist for Whiskey Go Go's, spoke to Narelle Walker about the band's formation and more - they support the Howling Bells on Friday 18 May at The Gov. Their new release 'Proud Tales To Them Of Us' is out 19 May through Warner, who have kindly dished out five copies to give away.

10. And finally, we have five double passes up for grabs to the all-ages Saosin show at Fowler's Live on Thursday 17 May, who are playing with A Static Lullaby. You can read all about Saosin in Will Oakeshott's interview with guitarist Justin Shekoski. All thanks to Chugg Entertainment and Fowler's Live.

ONLINE FRENZY

They're on the cover, they're interviewed inside and they're about to arrive in A-town: Alexisonfire chat to Will Oakeshott about their upcoming tour and their latest album 'Crisis' which is out now on Shock, who have kindly given us five copies to put in your hot little hands. Just email frenzy@dbmagazine.com.au and tell us - at which festival will both Alexisonfire and singer Dallas Green's other project, City And Colour, be playing together?
