The rain has been good for farmers, but tends to keep people at home, which is a real shame because there are some absolutely awesome shows hitting Adelaide over the next few months!

Inbound returns with another all local show: selectors for the night will be Filter, Fiction, Jayar, Macro, and Roost. The location is the Producers Bar at Electric Light Hotel on Fri 18 May.

Sat 19 May at FAD Bar sees an interesting blend of beats with Thunderclap. DJs Bennie Raw, Jayar, Stagga4ard, Gamera, B@ch, Havok, Love/Mayhem, Wizzkid, Yoshi and Dwell will bring the sounds of dubstep sprinkled with a little d'n'b to our shores all the way from the UK and beyond.

Fri 19 May sees the Sneaky Sound System creep into Adelaide to play at the Dom Polski Centre. If you've been lucky enough to see them with Jamiroquai, Scissor Sisters or even Robbie Williams you know what a great show they put on!

Altitude @ Earth is proud to announce the return of the undisputed Queen of Hard Dance Lisa Lashes on her 'Always Faithful' Australian Tour. Head to Earth on Sat 19 May to experience why she has become such a phenomenal performer.

Are you a Triple J fan? Do you find yourself grooving away on a Friday night? The selectors you've heard are the Funk Trust DJs, Will Styles & Learned Hand. Funk obsessives, whose DJing is characterised by a flagrant disregard of genre and a passionate commitment to drinking, these fun time DJs will be rocking the Crown & Sceptre with local support by DJs Ish & Track Team on Thu 26 May.

Promoting their latest mix CD 'Now Listen Again', quite possibly the best Mix CD you'll hear all this year, Ninja Tune freakazoid's DJ Food (Strictly Kev and DK) hit Rocket Bar on Sat 26 May. In the tradition of Coldcut, Z-Trip, Nextmen and DJ Yoda, these music maestros will blow you away with their eclectic blend of hip-hop, rock, funk, dance and more all mixed with silly samples to create a massively fun dancefloor vibe!

Sat 26 May sees the Adelaide Breaks Collective rock the Crown & Sceptre once again. The usual misfits - Anzac, Lachy Pender, Dusk & Spark will appear alongside Fringe Spin DJ winners Track Team.

Lastly I'd like to dedicate this column to DJ Noddy, who after 15 years of commitment to Adelaide's dance scene is hanging up his headphones. The flyer work he has done over the years alone visually defines Adelaide's dance music scene, but if it wasn't for him and MPK pushing dance generally (and d'n'b specifically) 15 years ago, there would be a poorer dance scene in Adelaide today. Noddy has helped the career of many aspiring DJs from across the genres of dance music by giving them gigs at parties he has promoted, and he is at so many parties week in and week out it's a wonder where he gets his energy! We may not have always seen eye to eye but I will always respect him for the work he has done for the scene through his DJing, promoting and artwork. Big ups Noddy, you will be missed behind the decks, but no doubt you'll be around partying on the floor with the rest of us!
