Happy Easter everybody! I remember that in the past, Easter was dominated by one massive event, with one massive line up, and sadly this isn't happening so much any more. I guess with the upside of that is there are lots of smaller, quality shows around the place, specialising in particular types of music.

On the Thurs 5 Apr at Viva Function Centre is the Hiphop Easter Jam. The massive line up includes Expansion Team Sound System comprised of DJ Babu and Rakaa Iriscience. They are joined by Louis Logic and RA Rugged Man, Akrobatic and DJ Brycon. Talent like this doesn't hit Adelaide often, so get in there!

If Andy C is King then Friction is one of the many princes of dnb, and Playtime loudly present DJ Friction and SP. D Jon (Technique, Broken and Twisted) on Fri 6 Apr at HQ (doors open at 11:59pm...) Local supports are MPK doing a best of 2006 set and John Doe doing a best of 2000-2004 set.

Decibel X present the International Edition with Art of Fighters Live, Meccano Twins and Tommyknocker, plus some amazing talent coming from interstate, new acts, and the creme of SA's local acts that you have come to love. Nearly every style of harder edged dance music under the one massive roof. This is going to be one of the biggest parties Adelaide has ever seen!! The line up includes Decipher (Bris), Aurora, Phat Controller Live (plays a 10 piece drum set whilst he is mixing!), Adrian V, Slide, Antics, Tantrum, H-Bomb, Kritikal, Mr. S, Noddy, Miss Em, Tactic, Tank, Evil Dave, Ism, Equinox, Provoke, Troub9l, Deviant, Giney Crew, Lynton, Devious and more! Happening Sun 7 Apr at a secret location, so hit up raveadelaide.com.au for more information.

Easter Saturday at Earth Night Club will see two of the world's leading artists grace the decks for an exclusive performance. Kyau & Albert and Studio B will join Josh, H Bomb, Madussa, Andy M, Cheeky B, MR S, Odyssey, Devious, Tactic, MPK, Mark 7, Nottes, Ambassador, and Underground.

Who would have thought a reporter from 'The Herald Sun' in Melbourne could say "After experiencing this band live, my list of such performances has been dramatically rearranged; they are No.1 ahead of James Brown and The Rolling Stones." They were talking, of course, about the Roots. This band sold out during their 2005 tour and blew crowds away with their fully live hiphop show. They hit Adelaide for one show on Thu 12 Apr at The Thebbie. Catch our interview with ?uestlove in this edition!
