Southern Cross Tango
Meat Market Tango
Garage International (Nexus MAC)
Sat 17 March
season closed

'Meat Market Tango' follows the uncomplicated story of the innocent girl, performed by the youthful Isolda Nandori, being forced into the dark, seedy side of town but when arriving decides that she likes it. When she is rescued she decides to keep a little of the dark side with her.

The narrative is just the thread weaved between the dances, influencing the mood of each. The tango instructors, Adrienne and Andrew Gill, open the performance with all the tango pizzazz that got the audience clapping in their piece entitled Light And Darkness: Dual Forces Of Creation. Then enter the rest of the dancers, who are all quite talented Tango dancers but it's the small touches that give away that they're still in training. This is with the exception of Big Boss Man, Oskar Pichler, he takes on his character with vigour. He is enjoyable to watch both for his theatrics and for his tango.

This is a show where the students of Southern Cross Tango can show how much they've learnt at their tango lessons. If you know someone from Southern Cross Tango, go and support them or if you're a huge fan of watching tango then go along too.
