Metal News.

The lineup appears to have changed for Dominian's show at the Lizard Lounge on Sat 24 March; supporting the band now will be Quiet Child, Save And Exit, Arcade Hero and Incarnadine. Doors open at 8 pm.

A final reminder that Norway's Arcturus will be appearing at the Enigma Bar (not HQ as originally advertised) on Tues 27 March, with support from Stargazer and Virgin Black.

On Fri 30 March, The War Room returns to the Enigma Bar with a show featuring Truth Corroded, Double Dragon, Locura, Fifth Finger Disintegrator and Closed Casket. Doors open at 9 pm. The show will be the first on Truth Corroded and Double Dragon's Double Dose Of Hatred Tour, which will see those two bands also play in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra, as well as at Metalstock.

On Thurs 5 Apr, there'll be an all-ages show at Fowler's Live featuring The Rivalry, The Jonestown Syndicate, Bloodsport and Remassacre, along with Melbourne visitors The Seduction, who feature ex-members of In Name And Blood. Doors open at 7 pm. According to Maz of The Jonestown Syndicate, "Friday is a public holiday, so no excuses for missing this one!"

This Easter, New Zealand grind/death/black/noise band Malevolence will be in Adelaide to do a couple of shows. The first will take place at the Squatters Arms on Sat 7 April and also feature, among others, Space Bong, The Guantanamo Bay City Rollers, The Backseat Romeos and Los Diablos. The second will take place at the Enigma Bar on Sunday. More information as I get it.

And the bands from Boston keep on coming! On Fri 13 April, another group from that city - hardcore outfit Bane - will be doing an all-ages show at the Enigma Bar, with support from Break Even. Doors open at 7:30 pm.

A bumper crop of black metal bands to promote this week. First up is Blackcrowned, a band from Cape Town, South Africa, who sum their music up as "Uncompromising underground black metal vomit." It's an apt description of their material, which is harsh, raw and ugly. Check them out at www.myspace.com/blackcrownedkvlt. Similarly rough are Malaysia's cryptically-titled 14120912519, who formed only last year and put out their first release, '666', that same year, on the numerologically significant date of 6 June. To check out their material, which features Malay lyrics and combines black metal with avant-garde, ritual ambience and traditional Malay music, go to www.myspace.com/14120912519. Another new-ish group are France's NKVD who're named after a forerunner of the KGB and whose stated aim is to "Play extreme industrial metal based on politics and history." Check out some of their material at www.myspace.com/nkgb; it's rousing stuff. Finally and for something a little easier on the ears, check out Turkey's Episode 13. Hailing from a city called Eskisehir, they play beautiful symphonic black metal, a sampling of which can be found at www.myspace.com/episode13
