The Dairy Brothers
Got Rock?
Independent
Do you want to rock?! And the Lordeth shaleth commandeth the rockingeth of the world...eth. And it shall be The Dairy Brothers that pull out all the stops to bring you the rock of the next century. The cover and title of this CD asks you a very, very simple question: 'Got Rock?' If you're holding this CD, then it's obvious you very, very much do.
So, why such a grandiose introduction to one of the cheesiest reviews of the CD known to humanity? The opening track, We Are The Ancestors (Of The Future Generation Of Rock), is an epic affair, drawing from all the power metal and Kiss-style rock before them, The Dairy Brothers are hallowed by His Majesty The Grand Conquistador Of Cock-Rock, who commands you to rock to the four brothers of the diary. Picking up momentum, it soon becomes clear that this cow-inspired group has come far. This is full of Queen-style harmonies, soaring cock-rock melodies, catchy hooks, heavy keytar, "J-Wah on guitar!" and the greatest use of the word 'really' ever recorded, as in Really Really Wanna Make Love. It's hard not to start jumping and thrashing in the middle of a room, somewhere.
The six tracks are full of the cheesiest humor, however, TDB have evolved from the original dairy-inspired concoctions of the previous albums. Instead, a stronger, Jack Black-style rock theme has taken over. Think 'School Of Rock', only every member of this band is extremely talented and holds up their end. You'd be hard-pressed to find a serious rock band that could pull off an album as catchy as this. To boot, classic live tracks such as My Neighbourhood (Has Been Overrun By Baboons) are finally on disc and with exceptional production values.
'Got Rock?' I do, thank you.
