The Australia Day long weekend is coming up and on Thurs 25 January Playtime presents Heavyweight Sounds with the two biggest names in drum and bass, Andy C and D-Bridge, on the HQ Sound System. Seriously, even if you're remotely into d'n'b, you need to be at this. D-Bridge will take you on a deep journey while Andy will have you raving your socks off!

HQ presents One Night Stand with house master Roger Sanchez on Fri 26 January. Locals include Brendon, Mobin Master, Bill Fragos, Steve Hart, Professor X, C4, and MC Tim. In the Soho there will be trance supplied by Damage, Josh, ATB, Statik, Solace, Angel, Lou Lou and MC Jules. In the Newmarket Lounge things will be a little more laid back with Steve Hart, K2 and Chris D.

Sinista Muzik Music in Conjunction with Disturbed present Disturbed Darkness on Fri 26 January upstairs at the Enigma Bar. This is going to be one for the hardcore, with New Castle's Mark N, from Nasenbluten and Bloody Fist Records. Joining him will be Bioxeed from QLD, Tymon, Refresh, Defunkshen, Dep Affect and locals H-Bomb, Evil Dave, Tantrum, Ism and Equinox.

Saturdays have been lacking a regular d'n'b night for a while, but 5158 Records presents Deepa upstairs at Earth, starting from Sat 27 January, featuring resident DJs Mark7 and Patch, with fortnightly rotating residents Fiction, Rolex, Filter, Trou9el.

The Big Day Out on Fri 2 February is sold out but, really, it's a little disappointing for dance acts again this year. No really big names to fill the Boiler Room. Sure, The Crystal Method and The Streets are playing, as are Digital Primate and Spank Rock, but we miss out on Lily Allen, Lupe Fiasco and Shapeshifter, three acts that would totally go off in Adelaide!

But for those still partying on and in the mood for dancing, Funk Shop at Tonic on Fri 2 February is the place to be! If you've managed to get along to previous years, you'll know what a rocking party this is! This year features State Of Mind and Mindscape alongside residents Patch, Fiction, John Doe and special guest MPK playing the best in d'n'b, with Dopamine playing breaks.

One of the most influential people in Australian dance music, Kasey Taylor, is playing on Sat 4 February at the Electric Light Hotel. Now residing in Portugal, she can be found playing all across the globe but for one night only the Melbourne master returns to Adelaide for a show that lovers of quality electronic music can't miss. Support will be from Glenn Bennie, Nic Borrelli and Mal Chia
