Having been exceptionally busy around this city for the last couple of months, the Zephyr Quartet grab a night for their own project, namely to launch the 'Electro Acoustic Project', at one of the hippest spots around. That's the Rocket Bar, Hindley Street, from 9pm on Fri 29 Sept. 'Electro Acoustic Project' is an exploration of sensational music for electronic sounds and amplified string quartet, written by some of Australia's leading young composers. The evening's proceedings will be filmed by ABC TV for their premier art show 'Sunday Arts' later during the year. The final concert for Zephyr Quartet's sell out 2006 season will be Generation Next on Thurs 19 Oct at the Jade Monkey.
And on Fri 29 Sept 'The Sum Of Everything' opens at the Urban Cow Gallery on Frome Road in the city. The blokes at Trasharama (that's at www.trasharama.com.au are thrilled to report that 'Trasharama A-go-go' is back for a whopping two nights of what they call the most hilarious and gratuitous short horror, sci-fi, animations and bad taste comedy that Australia has on offer. "Come and see zombie carnage, rubber gloves from outta space, dodgy restaurant food, sexy vampire chicks, creature features, killer bikini girls, political incorrectness, evil drag queens and enough buckets of gore and pus to please the most hard ass horror nuts." That's pretty appealing, eh? Trasharama's Oz Premiere Gala (R) with special guests is on Fri 6 Oct and Trasharama Part 2 (MA) on Sat 7 Oct. Giveaways and Door prizes on both nights; and though they don't exactly say where, the Mercury Cinema is a good guess.
