Antiskeptic, Sumi, Move To Strike
Enigma Bar
Sat 5 August

It has been a long while since Antiskeptic have played on an Adelaide stage so the Enigma Bar was filling quite quickly on this cold August night to support the launch of their new EP/DVD titled 'Monument'.

To get the crowd warmed up, the stage was graced by local Adelaide quartet Move To Strike. With a sound that could be compared to the now-defunct Further Seems Forever, this band has moved in leaps and bounds since their first gig late last year. They played a passionate live show, playing songs that included the ever-popular New Generic and In-Flight off their sampler, to name just a couple. Move To Strike are a refreshing addition to the Adelaide scene and I'm sure that you will hear a lot more from them soon.

Next up were Sumi, a band who I have seen countless times over the years and I still never get sick of them. Their set was filled with old tracks like Say How High and In Parallel Cars, but also featured the more maturely-written songs which will be on their recently recorded third EP. Sumi always tend to create a good vibe with their energetic performance and tonight was definitely no exception.

The Enigma Bar was basically packed to full capacity by the time Sumi left the stage with punters almost sitting on the stage, waiting anxiously for Antiskeptic to come on. This band has a reputation for being one of the best live acts in Australia and even the time they have spent away from the stage hasn't changed that in the slightest - if anything they were more eager and excited to be playing again. Playing songs that varied from the start of their career, the crowd was delivered old favorites such as Beautiful In White as well as Nothing To Say and Called. They also treated the crowd with some of the tracks from the EP including the single Dancing On The Inside.

After playing a show as incredible as this one, I'm sure that it won't be long before Antiskeptic return to Adelaide and their passionate performance shows that they are definitely back from hiding with a vengeance.
