Things To Do In Adelaide

1. A new exhibition of photography by Karen Tenni is now open at the Elbow Room Gallery Arts & Crafts complex at Angle Park. Entitled 'Deconstruction: Reconstruction', this is a visual exploration of the process of major change experienced within the local suburban housing redevelopment project.

2. From Sun 8 Oct at the Festival Centre things gear up for spring and summer with a host of market stalls, live performances, exhibitions and other family centred activities. Lots of fun for everyone as the centre comes alive.

3. Currently on display at the titular ETSA Utilities Gallery - that may be in the Art Gallery of SA, but it's hard to be sure - are the works of all 112 finalists in the 'Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize 2006'. They're all on display, including the overall winner and the winners in each of the three prize categories: painting, works on paper and sculpture. Over five hundred entries were received from around the country and from overseas. In its fourth year this natural history arts competition has grown to be one of the most prestigious art competitions in Australia. Entry is free.

4. 'The Journey Of Unrestrained' is a surreal dance performance based on child genius Li He's journey to find an outlet for his creative talents, and is now a performance choreographed by Professor Zhang Xioa Xiong for the Adelaide Centre for the ARTS 2nd year Dancers and Technical Production & Design students. Performances are at 8pm for four nights only - from Tues 5 Sept in the Main Theatre, Adelaide Centre for the ARTS, on Light Square

5. There's an exhibition of printmaking by four artists: Maria Bray, Deborah Miller, Diana Rennison and Annette Vincent coming up at the Pepper St Gallery, Magill Rd. 'Mythst Time' opens on Thurs 1 Sept, and runs until Fri 22 Sept.

6. Into it's last few days at the RSASA Gallery (upstairs, corner Kintore Ave and North Tce, city) is 'A Story', a collection of paintings from the children of Hermannsberg, in SA's north. Included are letters and paintings from Albert Namatjira. The exhibition concludes on Sun 3 Sept.

7. Holden St Theatre's 'Bash', an assemblage of three short plays, is now portraying "a dark vision of casual atrocity", starring Renato Musolino and Martha Lott.
