Funkshop at Tonic every first Friday of the month brings you an extra special guest this month - all the way from New Zealand, State Of Mind! SOM are about to rinse it out proper for the Adelaide crew at Tonic on Fri 4 Aug.

KB The Kid Nappa is one of the hottest rappers to emerge from Texas and is a pioneering legend in the Texas Rap game. An original member of the infamous gangsta' rap group Street Military, this man's debut solo underground album has captured audiences all over the world. Get ready to get knocked out and have your ears melted by this talented, octane-fueled motorbreath alongside the incredible Boo Yaa T.R.I.B.E. on Fri 4 Aug at Earth. Local Acts include Terra Firma, DJ Kansel (Australian Scribble Jam Champion), DJ Sum-1 (New Zealand Champion), DJ Dymes, Southern Skeptics and hosted by Bva (Mnemonic Ascent).

Speaking of hip-hop, and following the successful DJ Shadow show, another hip-hop great comes to Adelaide. Mr. Lif and Cage are arriving to alter your perceptions of how a hip-hop show rocks! Producers Bar (the East End Exchange) is the venue, and Wed 9 Aug is the date. Miss this, and you're missing something special!

Karma welcomes DJ Neroli on her first visit to Adelaide. Neroli is affectionately known throughout the nation as Queensland's Queen Of Dance, a title she has worked hard to earn over her 11 years of driving dance-floors around Australia. Catch her with Karma residents at Earth on Sat 5 Aug.

Instalment two of the 5158 showcase of d'n'b V breaks eMBRACe is coming your way Fri 11 Aug at Club Fever! D'n'b locals include Skyver And Djon, Mark7, Fiction, Restless, Parallel Vs Piers, Fluke, Stylus, alongside MCs PASE, G-Swizzle and X To Tha P. The breaks room features Cheeky-B, K2, Benny Raw, LeeZee, Dusk, Jayar, Funky J, alongside MCs MEOWZ and Griff, the sole hooligan!

After the phenomenal success of Birthday Beats, the guys behind Adelaide's newest d'n'b night could hardly wait one more year to do it again, so they've started EMISSION, on Sat 12 Aug at Moon Under Water (the Wakefield Hotel). Set to become a monthly show, EMISSION will showcase all aspects of the Adelaide d'n'b scene, with both raising talent and the cream of Adelaide's d'n'b specialists on heavy rotation. DJs for the inaugural night include Fiction, Del, Switch, Stylus, Pulse, Roost, Leezee, with MC's, Stryke and Snype.

And you can get more hip-hop at the Cabaret Cafe on Sat 12 Aug as Copy-1 hosts a high-octane show of live hip-hop, featuring the fusion sounds of Poetikool Justice and J-How, along with some of Adelaide's finest soloists, including DRUZE, Miss Linguistik, Hektic and Frosty.
