On Thurs 6 Jul, there'll be a free show at the Crown And Anchor Hotel featuring The Guantanamo Bay City Rollers and Port Adelaide's Russell Crowbar, who'll be doing their first-ever show; in addition, there'll be DJs playing tunes throughout the night. The Guantanamo Bay City Rollers will be putting out their debut six-track EP sometime within the next few months, and have also been lucky enough to score themselves a support slot at a show in August featuring US band Municipal Waste. More details on the last thing closer to the date of the event.

Also on Thurs 6 Jul will be an all-ages show at the Enigma Bar featuring Through Closed Eyes, Stronghold, The Red Shore and The Antagonist, the last band hailing from New Zealand. Doors open at 7 PM.

On Fri 7 Jul, there'll be another all-ages show at the Enigma Bar, this one featuring The Jonestown Syndicate, Blood Sport, Abandon All Hope and A Classic Tragedy, as well as Melbourne's Nothing Remains. Doors also open at 7 PM for this one.

On Sun 9 Jul, there'll be a show at the Crow And Anchor Hotel featuring Mad Batch, Braille, Hekyl, Subduction and Sleeper Channel. As it starts fairly early (4 PM), I'm guessing it'll be all-ages as well.

On Fri 21 Jul, New York's Most Precious Blood will be doing a show - their first here since November 2004 - at the Enigma Bar, with support from Melbourne's Her Nightmare.

On Sat 22 Jul, Omnium will be doing a free show with Imminent Psychosis at the Crown And Anchor Hotel. The gig will start around 9 PM, and be something of a comeback for Omnium, as an injury sustained by their drummer, Johno, several months ago has prevented them from playing any shows so far this year.

Also on Sat 22 Jul, 'The Great Adelaide Trendkill', Against the Grain, returns to the Bridgeway Hotel. Commencing at 2 PM, the all-ages event will once again feature a wide variety of bands; groups confirmed so far are locals Double Dragon, Truth Corroded and Diatribe; Victorians The Abandonment, Nothing Remains and Black Like Vengeance; and New South Wales' Daysend, who'll be seeing off their former vocalist, Simon Calabrese (since replaced by Mark McKernan, former frontman of Head-Cage). The full line-up will be announced closer to the date of the show.

At the end of the month (Fri 28 Jul to be precise), the Enigma Bar will once again be playing host to The War Room's annual 'Battle Royale' extravaganza. This time around, the mammoth event will feature, among other bands, Newcastle's Come Lies, and locals The Rivalry, Abandon All Hope and Cry Murder, the last band having recently put out their debut release, 'From the Shadow of Doubt', just in case you didn't know. As always, there will be giveaways galore, while the evening's guest DJs will be making sure that the metal doesn't stop even when the bands do.
