Many people think MySpace is a place for sad, whiney, makeup ridden Emo kids to post ardent poetry and 'me too' responses in comment sections, but it can be a great music resource for dance music fans too. Many DJs and bands have My Space accounts, and communicate with their fans, announcing gigs, as well as blogging about things happening in their lives. Take for example MIA, and the USA's refusal to let her in the country given her comments on the state of the union, as well as her readily admitting her father is a Tamil Tiger. It's shedding light on the increasingly paranoia in the USA and the effect it's having on touring stars, and the wider American music scene.
