Fowlers Live
Tues 16 May
The show started with Through His Blood (made up of ex- Embodiment 12:14 members). On a number of occasions they displayed how mature and well thought out their music was. Songs like Prayers For The Prey went down well. The craftsmanship of each song was something I admired. Heavy sections were hard but at the same time nice and soothing. This wasn't Aone of the best live shows they have played. I'm still expecting to be blown away by their performances at one of their next shows.
Cry Murder have definitely stepped up within the last year. With a new EP 'From The Shadow Of Doubt' coming out it seemed like a good chance to sample some new material. Highlights included Cutout, SaviourSelf and Weapon Of Choice. On stage they are quite the brutal package of metal furore. A well played show on the night from this energetic group.
Fowlers live was packed with eager punters. From the word go they didn't stop; running around in a crazy circle pit or attempting some hardcore dancing. Lead singer Tim Lambesis had the crowd in the palm of his hand. He would say jump and they would say how high? I think this was because AILD appeared to be one of the nicest, humble down to earth bands going around. Their on stage energy and technical ability was second to none.
Guitars sounded awesome on Collision and Meaning In Tragedy. Lambesis was awesome to watch as he paced up and down the small stage with intent and lots of charisma. Bass player Clint Norris's vocals on The Darkest Nights was awe inspiring. One of the more mellow moments during their set came in the form of Repeating Yesterday. Other songs off their latest album 'Shadows Are Security' included Reflection and Empty Hearts. Every moment these guys played was cherished by me. This by far has to be one of the best bands I have seen in recent memory. They finished off an amazing show with Forever.
