Prize Frenzy™!
Frenzor™'s got his mojo working at the moment: he's bright of eye and bushy (well, scaly) of tail, with a spring in his step and a smile on his face. OK, it's more of a terrifyingly sinister leer, but we at dB Magazine have learned to take a cup-half-full approach to these things. In any case, he's filled his putrid prize sack with a whole lot of fantastic gear, and you can profit from his largesse by calling 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 28 April and asking for the item from the below list that most catches your eye:
1. You could be among the first people in the universe to see Sean Riley's new play 'Beautiful Words' by grabbing one of two double passes to the 7.30pm preview performance at Higher Ground on Fri 5 May, thanks to Amanda Werner Publicity and Oddbodies Theatre Company.
2. Given that the Hilltop Hoods CD is pretty damn great, it's no surprise that Julian Cram has declared it this issue's 'We Liked It And You Will Too' - and we've got copies of said album just for you, thanks to Obese.
3. Mr Wednesday are having a huge launch for their 'The Garden Where Parties Grow' album at Fowler's Live on Fri 5 May, and they were so delighted with Ben Revi's erudite questions in their interview that they've handed over two double passes to the gig.
4. Andrew P Street parties like it's 1993 with the reformed Ripe in this issue and we have three copies of the brand new Ripe CD-EP 'Galaxies And Stars' on offer, thanks to Shiny.
5. Peter Strelan asks the Cat Empire what's up with this "project" thing, and you can enter the debate by grabbing a copy of the 'Cities' disc, thanks to EMI.
6. Everyone's fallen in love with The Grates (none more so than Ben Revi, who interviews them in this issue) and we have copies of their debut album 'Gravity Won't Get You High' thanks to UMA.
7. Could Matt Vesley be any more breathless in his praise of Taking Back Sunday? Check out his interview and then grab a copy of the new TBS CD 'Louder Now', thanks to Warners.
8. Or do you need some comedy in your life? Damo and The Diddler have handed over five double passes to the Wed 3 May performance of QA Comedy at the Queens Arms on Wright Street, for your chuckling pleasure.
9. Maddi West was giggling like a schoolgirl after talking to HIM's Ville Valo; and you can hear why she was so smitten by grabbing a copy of their 'Dark Light' album, thanks to Warners.
10. Or maybe you're after something a tad more bangin', like the exclusive Hardkandy pack that Inertia have handed over which contains a vinyl 7" of Three Days and a copy of the Catskill Records sampler, plus stickers and other neat things. There's even a couple of extra samplers available if you miss out on the pack, because Inertia is all about making you happy.
Online Only Frenzy™!
The Frenztron6000™ is getting a bit more cultural this fortnight, turning its gimlet eye - and atomic superlaser - on the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and their season of 'Mozart's Legacy' at the Adelaide Town Hall. We have a double pass to the Sat 29 April performance up for grabs: first person to request it via andrew@dbmagazine.com.au gets it.
