Dance News.
Damn it! Due to technical difficulties with new computers not having the correct software installed, (and work computers locking me out from various websites) this week's list is devoid of funny dance music or drug related info. Instead, I'll just let you know that www.dbmagazine.com.au is entirely searchable, so think of a dance act, and see what we've written about them...
Triple J and JAM are presenting Nubreed on their 'Distinctive Y4K' tour at Savvy on Fri 28 April, supported Adelaide's Live breakbeat sensation The Levitators plus DJs from the wildly successful Adelaide Breaks Collective. If that's not enough, the Fabric crew will be rinsing out the electro and house in the front room!
Triple J and mix up is also helping out the Inbound crew bring over the infamous Concord Dawn on their 'Chaos By Design' album tour. If you saw them last year after the Big Day Out, you'll know the intensity these guys can bring! Joining them at Earth on Fri 28 April will be Salmonella Dub's MC Tiki on the mic and UK bad boy DJ Bailey, plus local supports Fiction, Filter, MPK, Patch and MC Xpress.
It's funny: there are some dance DJs out there who just love music and will play anything. One such DJ is Quantum, who's been playing 80s in the Dangerzone on the first Friday of every month at Mojo. Well, now on the Third Friday of the month our man Quazza, along with guests, is bringing you the best of the 90s, playing smooth house, top shelf cheesy party jams and even getting a li'l grungy. The night kicks off early on Fri 28 April (even though technically it's not the third Friday). And don't forget to catch him the week after on Fri 5 May playing 80s!
If you like your drum'n'bass hard and nasty, you can't afford to miss Evol Intent. Get nasty as the guys from America show they can rock a party as good as the Europeans at Tonic on Fri 5 May, with locals Patch, Fiction, Filter, Grimey, Khem, Jason and Restless with MCs Pase and Seek.
On Sat 29 April the Enchanted Crew Loudly present Mallorca Lee (ex-Ultrasonic) and David Forbes (ex Public Domain) at Earth. They're also launching 'Global NRG by Arktik-Volatile', mixed by DJs Karim, Matt Thomas and Mr S. They'll be supported by Devious, MPK (doing an old skool set), Matt Thomas, Mr S, Odyssey, Grady, G Narc, Adrian V, H-Bomb, Josh, C4, Damage and Brendan.
