Big Al & Mark 'Give Us A Hug'
Belgian Beer Cafe
Wed 15 March

Fat and Skinny have an act, Fat is funny and Skinny's a cack... Adelaide comedians Big Al and his much leaner counterpart Mark Trenwith, have teamed up for a double act that, other than just being a platform for their respective stand up routines, see this brazen pair of fun loving hams being allowed the use of a video camera to candidly capture their idiotic antics.

Big Al was given first run, and after miking up his mobile phone he jovially provided advertising voiceovers and TV show theme songs over various generically awful ring-tones, before he then moved on to beam examples of celebrity makeovers on to the screen. Saving the best till last (as you do), his take on the drink-driving ads where the actor takes on the role of being both drunk and sober was absolute priceless, though it must be pointed out that in both instances he responsibly took the bus home.

Mark Trenwith's turn; after bemoaning life on the dole he realised that his CV was possibly a little drab, so he hired a singing telegram service to deliver job applications. While most prospective bosses and surrounding staff appeared genuinely amused others weren't so pleased, and their ensuing rejection letters clearly stated this.

Then, after a quick game of 'Butter or Cheese?' with an unsuspecting audience member, it was on to a music film clip he made for an imaginary girlfriend before a quick demonstration of why a frog is much more effective than a human when marketing annoying ring-tones. As childish as it may seem, I think my opening ditty sums these two up perfectly.
