2Connect
Higher Ground
Thurs 2 March

Brought to you by No Strings Attached, 2 Connect is four shows in one plus a kaurna welcome by John Mack and Steve Goldsmith. The welcome is beautiful, and Johnny is a very keen performer which really gives you a positive and inviting welcome. Each scene is a duet using a different theatrical medium and, 2 Connect is almost a site specific piece, using the entirety of the new venue Higher Ground. (Just a hint, if you haven't been to Higher Ground yet then this show is the perfect introduction to the space).

The first act is on the main stage. 'The Ride Of Babs & Sunny', a gorgeous clowning act performed by two stunningly cute clowns; Damien Turbin and Jo Zealand. They take you on a sweet journey of loneliness and friendship that you can't help but giggle and sigh. Turbin's opening seals your empathy and you wish you could befriend this darling little clown.

Then we're moved onto the cabaret stage for a insight into the life of a public servant in 'Alice's Cat', performed by Amythest DeWilde and Susie Skinner. DeWilde sings with a strong voice and Skinner performs poetry.

Then it's upstairs to a scary environment of a glass prison room for 'Trapped', performed by Kym Mackenzie and Alirio Zavarce. They beautifully and heart-wrenchingly portray their personal stories of being the outsider. They're persecuted by an unseen guard for having differences to the rest of society but in the room together they become friends and share intimate moments.

Finally, we're taken back into the main stage for the amazing dance and visual media piece 'Lionheart'. This is an incredible performance to finish the show. Dancers Tina Barry and Richard Samai dance together with charm and emotion and the evocative visual media supports their story.

Just go see it for yourself!
