The Sixth Sense
The Garden Of Unearthly Delights
Until Mar 19
Here's one of those quick and cheap, and odd little distractions to be found in The Garden that is definitely worth checking out. After being enticed into the tent by his younger brother, Emile, you'll see Robert perched high on a chair, quietly and shyly fidgeting to himself. It is soon explained to you by Emile that what we're about to witness is not so much a show, but more a demonstration of Robert's strange and yet to be explained phenomenal ability to see objects exactly the way we do, but while firmly blindfolded.
The entire audience is then asked to place an item from their pockets into their hands and one by one Emile asks his brother to say exactly what that is, even to the point of being able to read the serial number from banknotes and, even more remarkably, occasionally providing extra details regarding the object's owner. While all forms of possible trickery are dispelled before and after the display, there is great consideration taken in ensuring that Dutch born Robert's dignity is maintained throughout.
This is extraordinary, to say the least.
