WOW! March is gearing up to be one of the hottest months on record, and I'm not talking about the weather! Not only is there all the Fringe stuff, (and, just between me and you, I haven't stopped partying since that incredible Fringe Opening!), plus all the wild world stuff going on at WOMAD, but we have got some amazing acts heading our way! Just look at the names heading our way this March - Noisia, Tayo, Bukem & Conrad, DJ SS, Sneaky Sound System, Clipz & Die, CODA, Kim Dezen, The Shine Brothers, Talvin Singh, A-Skillz, Proteus, Tayo, Paul Van Dyke...

But lets look at the stuff that's on this week first! It's funny how Adelaide goes absolutely mental around Fringe Time, isn't it? I mean, hip-hop at the Exeter??? Still Thinking, a 7 piece hip-hop outfit from Melbourne will be presenting a wide range of booty shaking beats, from heart felt ballads to hard-core hip hop as part of the Fuse festival. Head to the Ex on Thurs 6 March to get some thinking done!

The grand ol' Duke of York also plays host to some electronica as part of the Fuse Festival, in the form Adelaide's live electronic oddity Nervous Gerbal. They'll be rocking out an eclectic blend of bleeps and bloops in their furry suits all night of Thurs 6 March.

Funk Shop at Tonic has provided Adelaide with many a great night, and this week is no exception! Fri 3 March sees regular DJs Patch and Fiction joined by Inbound guru Filter alongside Melbourne's DJ Fents.

Off Tha Street will see Aussie hip-hop stars pack out Earth Nightclub on Fri 3 March. Get along for Bliss N Eso direct from Sydney, supported by Phrase & DJ Flagrant, Mindfield, J.Castell, Style High Club and CO4Sure.

Oooh! I'm ecstatic about this one! As part of Adelaide Festival, the Persian Garden is your very own oasis during the Festival, an intimate, unique and exotic outdoor club on the Torrens Riverbank. On Sat 4 March join Hexstatic, the Ninja Tune AV wunderkinds renowned the world over for their cutting edge performances and lush spazzy beats, alongside Russ Jones and his global sounds encompassing Afro house, Brazilian 2 step, Japanese funk, vintage reggae and more!

'Acquiescence: Not Dreaming, Creating' presents a kaleidoscope of artforms over 12 magnificent hours! Comprising of over 60 acts across four stages, this all ages event will be held Sat 4 March at the Viva/Nightrain Entertainment complex in Light Square. There's going to be live bands, DJs, comedy, theatre and visual arts, and you'll be able to get your dance on to Systembot, Nervous Gerbal, Amoeba live and Co4Sure, while DJs include Patch, Quantum, Slide, Electric Therapy, Stryke, Jayar, JC, and Matt Abbot!

The freaks have returned! Carnico is Adelaide's first Psy-Trance event for 2006, and looks to be a big one. Held out in the bush somewhere near Monarto on Sat 4 Mar, (Visit http://www.creatoruniverse.com for directions and maps), it'll showcase the live show of the freaky yet funky Haltya from Finland, plus DJs ZowZi, Noise Puppets, Awol, Sourcepan, Goanymph, Fungku, BioFreQ, Dzol, Oli, Ne1 and Lx.

And finally, congratulations to the Casio Brothers (Most Popular Dance Act), Munchkin (Best Electronica Act), and DJ Josh (Best DJ) for winning a coveted AWESAM awards in the fields of dance music. And speaking of award shows, the South Australian Dance Music Awards are being kept alive thanks to the efforts of Adelaide's community-focused Fresh FM after the former coordinators withdrew their involvement and support in the wake of last year's bikie fuelled ruckus. More details as they arrive, and keep listening to Fresh FM.
