Those dBra winners in full!.
On
Wed 21 Dec dB Magazine celebrated the third annual dB Readers
Awards (or, as we aconymically prefer to call them, the dBras)
with a glittering ceremony at Fowler's Live. Not only was it
a marvellous meeting of Adelaide's music community (and a refreshing
opportunity for many of the city's venue managers to enjoy an
evening on the other side of the bar), but also a chance to
welcome a new Adelaide resident: Mr Dave Gleeson of the Screaming
Jets, who also acted as the guest MC for the awards. He then
stayed on to enjoy a drink with his new neighbours (at one point
enjoying an intense conversation with various members of The
Hot Lies and I Killed The Prom Queen) until Home For The Def
skipped across the stage, slipped over and knocked over a table
of glasses, which is the universally-recognised sign for "time
to get one's coats". Congratulations to all the winners and
nominees, and mad props to Fowler's Live for being staffed by
such good people. So, we're on for next year?
Here's the list of winners - and remember, the dBras are entirely voted by our readers via the dB Magazine website (www.dbmagazine.com.au, incidentally), so be ready to make with the 2006 voting again around November. Don't worry: we'll remind you.
