Dance News.
Normally I'm full of Christmas cheer and in a festive mood, but I've just been made redundant (not from dB) so "bah, Humbug". Anyway, here's what's on: and spare a thought for all those of us without jobs and money when you're out partying hard...
Fri 23 Dec sees the The BlackLightBlue Crew, Echo Crew and Fabric
Promotions combine to put on their Christmas at Tonic. This
will be a night of the finest house, electro, progressive and
trance with selectors for the evening comprising of Dr Damage,
Brendon, Mal Chia, Solace, Steve Culgan, Jazzy James, Matt Parker
and MC Jules.
What better way could there be to spend Proclamation Day than enjoying A Day At The Beach with Kosheen and The Bird? Kosheen will play with their vocalist, the Bird bring their amazing stage show, and on top of that the boys Decoder & Substance will drop a DJ set! And if that wasn't enough, girls and boys will be handing out ice creams. All this is happening at the Shores, West Beach On Tue 27 Dec.
One.Point.One sees Adelaide's biggest rave promoters give you
a massive farewell to an incredible 2005. Rather than squabbling
over different parties and venues, the promoters of Playtime,
Anthems, Stardust, Ultraworld and the Enchanted Crew combine
to bring together the dance tribes on New Years Eve Sat 31 Dec.
Old-school, drum'n'bass, hard dance and hardcore all together
in Adelaide's favourite rave venue, St Paul's, with stacks of
locals and at least two internationals on the decks: drum'n'bass
DJs Fresh and Shimon. And there is more to be announced, so
stay tuned to Fresh FM for details!
The tradition continues as Rhino Room is once again transformed into the Rhino Mansion for another instalment of their infamous New Years Eve Parties on Sat 31 Dec. Spread over 2 levels with 5 rooms, plus an all new beer garden, this is Rhino like you have never seen before! Adelaide's favourite party music maestros the Beat Smugglers are headlining with a classic party set to bring in the New Year, followed by a floor busting two hour DJ set from the prodigal son and one of our finest exports, Kim Dezen. If that ain't enough then witness Matt Walker, Nicko & Mark Saxon from infamous funk outfit Magma teaming up to deliver a hot summer-inspired DJ set laden with live percussion and saxophone. Add to that DJs Stephen King, Shep, Jumbo, Louis & Kane (Kick), Simon Booth, Dr Wah Wah, Nixon, David L and more, and you've got one hell of a party!
