Prize Frenzy™!
No, your Prize Frenzy™ is a bit short this issue. What are you implying? That Frenzor™ had a little trouble getting enough stuff together for a week's issue? We'll have you know that Frenzor™ could put a hundred things in every single Frenzy™, if he wanted: he just thinks that you're a little too greedy as it stands, to be brutally honest, and frankly he finds it a little unbecoming. Maybe you should take a bit of a look at how many things you give away every issue before starting to tar others with your filthy impuning brush. Anyway, those of you who haven't even got the tiniest shred of human decency necessary to feel the least bit ashamed about your barefaced avarice can go ahead call 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 16 Dec, but don't think Frenzor™ will respect you for it.
1. Alright, the first two are early - BUT ONLY THE FIRST TWO. Got it? You've read Matt Vesley's interview with Less Than Jake and reckon it sounds like the sort of show you'd be a damned fool to miss. You'd be right: and luckily Blue Murder have given us a couple of double passes to their all-ages show at the Adelaide UniBar on Thurs 15 Dec: ring as soon as you read this to have any chance of getting them!
2. Similarly, The Grates are playing at Jive on Thurs 15 Dec and unless you're going to the Falls Festival that's the only chance you're going to have to see them any time soon: read Ben Revi's interview in this issue and grab yerself some tix, thanks to Dew Process and Jive. Call right now.
3. Right, now we're back to FRIDAY ONLY. Clear? Good. Grinspoon have a best-of out at the moment: it's called 'Best In Show', Sam Ryan asks Joe Hansen all about it in this issue, and UMA have slipped us some copies for your 'Spooning pleasure.
4. Wanna get along to Later That Night's CD launch? Sure you do, since you've read James Brazel's interview in this issue, and we have two doubles to their show at Enigma Bar on Fri 16 Dec thanks to the band.
5. The good people at Moonlight Cinema have slung us a huge pile of in-season passes which can be used at pretty much any screening - like, for example, 'The Wild Parrots Of Telegraph Hill' (Fri 16 Dec), 'Charlie & The Chocolate Factory' (Sat 17 Dec), Howl's Moving Castle' (Sun 28 Dec) and 'Gremlins' (Tues 20 Dec). Aren't they nice?
6. Steven Hocking talks to Grant McLennan about the Go Betweens' new DVD 'That Striped Sunlight Sound', and EMI celebrate with handing over three copies.
7. We've always said that Xmas isn't Xmas without a special, seasonally-themed CD from The Dairy Brothers, The Beards, Soursob Bob and Dexter Jones - and they've finally got around to making one, meaning that this will be the best Xmas ever! We also have three copies of said CD ('Naked Christmas 2005'), thanks to the band.
8. Julian Cram has an illuminating chat with Statler & Waldorf about their bangin' new disc 'Andronovavirus', and we have copies of said disc thanks to Beat Broker.
Online Only Frenzy™!
How better to celebrate the festival season than with The Family Guy's 'Happy Freakin' Christmas' DVD, with two seasonally-themed episodes and a bonus Stewie Griffin featurette? None, that's how: at least, that's the conclusion that 20th Century Fox came to when the Frenztron6000™ pointed it's weather machine laser at them. We've got ten copies to give away, thanks to Marketing Elements: all you need to do is answer these oh-so-easy questions and a copy is yours:
1. What's the name of the show's creator, head writer and main voice actor?
2. What city and state do the Griffins live in?
3. Name the six members of the Griffin household.
