Prize Frenzy™!

Ever since Frenzor™ launched an all-out fire and poison attack on Santa's underground bunker we feel we can safely declare him the Giftiest creature on the planet (assuming, of course, that Puff's scheme to reanimate Santa's charred and featureless corpse doesn't pan out). You'd better watch out, you'd better not cry / you'd better not be unwilling to die / Frenzor™'s claws are cutting you down. Or, to put it another way: call 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri Fri 2 Dec and ask for your choice of the following:

1. We wouldn't put the John Butler Trio on our cover if we didn't want to rejoice in the fact that they're returning to Adelaide for two shows on Tues 6 Dec and Wed 7 Dec, and we have double passes to both shows thanks to the generosity of the band and of Jones PR.

2. Eddie Chan gets a few words out of Okkervil River with regard to their upcoming Jade Monkey show on Thurs 8 Dec, and we have two doubles thanks to Low Transit Industries.

3. Sam Vinall asks Every Time I Die all about their imminent Fowler's Live show Fri 2 Dec, and we have two double passes to that very gig, thanks to Blue Murder.

4. Lauren Boxhall reckons Wolfmother's self-titled debut is pretty damn rocktacular, which is why it's this issue's 'We Liked It And You Will Too' and also why UMA have kindly slipped us several copies.

5. Andrew P Street enjoys a most pleasant chat with the charming Steve Kilbey of The Church, and Buxton-Walker PR celebrate this meeting of the minds with two double passes to The Church's Governor Hindmarsh show on Wed 14 Dec.

6. Michael Hunter speaks with South African music legend Johnny Clegg about his imminent visit to Adelaide - a visit that you can be part of by grabbing one of two double passes to his Thebarton Theatre show on Sat 3 Dec, thanks to Werner PR.

8. Andrew P Street has no qualms about proclaiming 'Playing The Angel' as Depeche Mode's finest effort in over a decade: it's reviewed this issue and EMI have kindly handed over some copies of said disc.

9. Seen the new Tooheys ad where a bunch of appliances totally go each other? The track that accompanies this frenetic action is She's At The Club by DJ Touche, and Pulse Communications have hurled a bunch of 'em our way for your toaster-battling pleasure.

10. The Mercury Cinema are screening the last ever Godzilla film! 'Godzilla: Final Wars' pits Toho Studio's mighty creation against all comers including - and how rad is this? - the stupid "new" Godzilla from the US version! You don't want to miss this on the big screen, and we've got in-season passes for Tues 6 Dec and Sat 10 Dec, thanks to the Mercury.

11. Wade Howland celebrates Crazy Frog in verse this issue, and Warners have celebrated the outpouring of his muse by sending us a pile of the Frog's Jingle Bells single.

12. Brett Allen-Bayes, meanwhile, reckons that the Bob Dylan double disc 'No Direction Home: Bootleg Series Vol. 7' is nothing short of spectacular. Concur with him by grabbing a copy thanks to SonyBMG.

13. So, you couldn't get along to the Meredith Festival but would like to enjoy a little mini-Meredith of your own? You're in luck: the good people at the Fest have sent us a special pack containing five CDs from artists on the bill, along with some other special stuff. Neato!

Online Only Frenzy™!

Oh, baby: has the Frenztron6000™ scored a whiz-bang of a humdinger of a prize this fortnight? The folks at 20th Century Fox, faced with disintegration from the Frenztron6000™'s space-faring missiles, have slung over a massive box containing the entire four season run of 'Futurama' (described by some here at dB Magazine as "The Matt Groening animated series that's even better than 'The Simpsons'"). All we need are the answers to the following questions:

1. Billy West, who voices Fry, was best known for doing voices on what other animated series?

2. Aside from being created by Matt Groening, what do Fry and Homer Simpson have in common?

3. What was the name of the song Bender wrote while touring with Beck?

4. Who is the President of Earth in the year 3000?

5. What city is Futurama set in?
