Prize Frenzy™!

As anyone who's made a recent visit to a shopping precinct would be aware, Xmas is just around the corner. Hence, naturally, we that labour under the baleful glare of Frenzor™, the fire-breathing hellbeast that runs Prize Frenzy™, are sweating and chafing in our fur-lined Santa suits festooned with potentially-carcinogenic artificial snow - because Frenzor™ is nothing if not bursting with the Xmas spirit (well, assuming that by "Xmas spirit" you mean "hatred and contempt for all living things"). In any case, you can profit from Frenzor™'s seasonal largesse by metaphorically dipping into his fetid Xmas sack and rooting around for the items listed below: simply by calling 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 18 Nov.

1. Epicure tell Lauren Boxhall all about their imminent show at the Governor Hindmarsh on Sat 19 Nov, and we have three double passes to that very show, thanks to Two Fish Out Of Water Publicity.

2. Sounds Like Sunset's 'Invisible' has won Scott Berry's heart, and hence it's this issue's 'We Liked It And You Will Too' - and we have copies for your heart-winning pleasure courtesy of Architecture Records.

3. You've read Nina Bertok's chat with Behind Crimson Eyes about their Enigma Bar show on Fri 18 Nov and you want to be there when they're a-rockin', right? Sure you do: and we have three double passes, thanks to Destroy All Lines.

4. Or maybe you'd like to enjoy the rockingness of Behind Crimson Eyes in your own home? Australian Music Biz have slipped us three copies of their 'Prologue: The Art Of War/Cherry Blossom Epitaph' CD-EP, because they're so darn nice.

5. Mr Tim Rogers is coming to the Gov on Thurs 1 Dec with those Temperance Union chaps, and we have a few doubles up for grabs thanks to Mad Dog Publicity.

6. Les Goolies tell Steve Jones all about their new 'Stiches' CD-EP in this issue, but they feel that the new record doesn't give a sense of their rich history. Hence, they've handed over a box set of releases from their Rim Of Hell label containing Ugly Ugly Ugly's 'Et In Arcadia Ego', Purple Caesars' Expect 12" single (on purple vinyl, no less), the 'New Age Orgasm' compilation and both the Les Goolies CD-EPs: 'A Taste Of...' and 'Stiches'. Thanks, guys.

7. Jess Law can't make her mind up about the new 'A Tribute To Sublime' CD - but maybe you could be more decisive after reading her review in this issue and then grabbing a copy, thanks to Big Records.

8. Kisschasy are pretty damn excited about playing as part of the All Ages Crusade tour with After The Fall and Gyroscope. They tell Ann Marie Sosnowski all about it in this issue, and EMI have slipped us some copies of their 'United Paper People' album to boot.

9. Bernard Fanning has just dropped his solo debut and will be playing here any second now - and you can get in the mood by grabbing a copy of 'Tea & Sympathy' from the good people at UMA.

10. Ben Revi didn't know quite how to take Andy Clockwise, but you might have a better go by grabbing a copy of his 'Classic FM' double CD, thanks to the man himself and Fly Music.

11. The Rogue Traders have just dropped their 'Here Come The Drums' album, and SonyBMG celebrate James Ash's interview with Andrew P Street by handing over three copies thereof.

Online Only Frenzy™!

The Frenztron6000™ realises that there wasn't enough room in this chock-a-block issue to squeeze a review of the Japanese live-action-meets-CG masterpiece 'Casshern', but Andrew P Street reviews it in the online version and the Mercury Cinema have kindly slipped it five in-season double passes. Read the review, decide that you absolutely want to see this extraordinary piece of work, then email andrew@dbmagazine.com.au and politely ask for a double pass.
