Prize Frenzy™!
When the history of the 21st Century is written, the dread name of Frenzor™ will hover over it like a miasma, a dark shadow of misery and forboding, exposing the folly of all human endeavour. "Yes, little insects," he will seem to bellow, "scurry around, build your houses of sand and futile endeavour, ring 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 9 Sept and pick the prize you'd like - it will all come to naught!" And he makes a good point. However, the sun-bleached skeletons that will dot our future landscape will be clutching some very nice stuff, and just think: one of those skeletons could be yours!
1. Spoon's main man Britt Daniel chats with Eddie Chan about the band's imminent Adelaide visit and we have double passes to their show at Fowlers Live on Sat 10 Sept up for grabs, thanks to Feel Touring.
2. Millencolin are also about to hit our fair town: read Matt Vesley's chat with frontman Nikola Sarcevic, then grab a double to their show at Thebarton Theatre on Tues 20 Sept, thanks to Scorpion Entertainment.
3. Steve Williams convincingly argues that The Boat People's debut album 'Yesyesyesyesyes' is pretty darn ace in this issue - in fact, 'We Liked It And You Will Too' and we have a handful of copies on offer, thanks to Australian Music Biz.
4. Then again, perhaps you'd sooner enjoy a night at the cinema: perhaps seeing the excellent new Cate Blanchett film 'Little Fish', which is reviewed by Steve Jones in this issue and of which we have a slew of in-season passes thanks to Picture This.
5. Or perhaps you've been reading the live reviews and now you'd enjoy some refreshingly tauriney beverages from Frucor? Sure you would, and thanks to their generosity we have a stack of V Black energy drinks on hand.
6. Andrew P Street reckons that The Mountain Goats are just about the best thing in the world, and he's right. He speaks with head 'Goat John Darnielle in this issue, and you can see why they're so damn great by grabbing a double pass to their show at Jive on Thurs 15 Sept, thanks to Handsome Touring.
7. Alexis Buxton-Collins speaks to Emseed about the brand new TZU CD in this issue's Dart, and Liberation have ponied up five copies to mark the occasion.
8. Wade Howland reckons that the new Magic Dirt 'Snow White' could be their definitive work: a bold claim, and one you can test for yourself by grabbing a copy of said CD, thanks to Warners.
9. Or maybe you'd like to enjoy the comedically delicious Man Bites God as they bring their their new CD 'The Popular Alternative' to the Rhino Room for a night of high-jinks on Fri 16 Sept? We've got five double passes on offer, thanks to Extra Mile Entertainment.
10. You've read Ben Revi's interview with Mark Mitchell and thought 'say, that Clue To Kalo CD sounds like it'd be pretty rad." Why not find out just how right you are by grabbing a copy of 'One Way, It's Every Way' thanks to Spunk! and the band.
12. Or perhaps you have a booty that needs shaking? You're in luck! Beat Broker have slipped us a double pass to Buggin' at the Shores (featuring Method Man, Redman, DJ Kool, DJ Premier and more) on Sun 18 Sept.
