On Fri 24 Aug legendary Adelaide jocks Brendon, ATB, Madness, Andy J, MPK, Noddy, Mr S, Devious and H-Bomb take us on a journey from the early house sounds to banging classics and happy hard at one of the birthplaces of the Adelaide rave scene, The Ark. It will be transformed into a vibrant and stimulating rave environment for the masses for Arkaba Anthems, a night that shows you can never forget the music, even if you can't remember the party!
I think we have found the gig that surely
deserves to win Party Name of the Year. On Sat 27 Aug the Chicks
From Venus come down to Earth with a feast of female DJ talent
over two levels. DJ Keely from NSW and KDJ from Vic join local
girls Josh, Cheeky B, Banshee, Medusa, Miss Em, Renegade and
Zealous playing house, trance and the hardest of hard house.
Frequency on Sat 27 Aug, upstairs at the Worldsend, sees an Encore performance by DJ Hob Goblin. Joining him on the dex is Devious Vs Badman, Cheeky.B, Rudeboy, Adrian V, T.D.K. (Tactic vs Divert vs Kodiak), G.M.C, Anarki, Roket, Kenny Koncept, B.R.D, Fox-E, Dr Green and Kandyman.
A part of the stateside electronic movement from the very beginning,
Dieselboy is hailed as one of the Founding Fathers of American
drum'n'bass and alongside MC Messinian, he finally comes to
Adelaide. He'll be pumping it out with locals Fiction, Patch,
MPK, John Doe, Filter and MC Xpress at Earth on Fri 2 Sept.
For the hip-hop heads not only is Mix Master Mike in town on Fri 26 Aug, but the Hip Hop All Stars Tour will tear Thebarton Theatre a new one on Fri 2 Sept, featuring three of the biggest kings of hip-hop: Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane and Kurtis Blow. Never before has Adelaide had people of this calibre and standing in the hip-hop scene, so get along and see the greats together for one night.
And stone the cows! Russia's long winter will just float by
for a herd of Russian cows that will be fed confiscated marijuana
over the chilly season. It turns out destroying the dope crops
would destroy the sunflowers and maize crops that are used to
feed the cattle, so rather than killing the plants, they'll
be harvested together with the regular crops and fed to them.
"I don't know what the milk will be like after this," reported
a Russian Fed in the Russian paper Novye Izvestia. My guess
is it'll go great with tim-tams.
