Metal News.
Locals Slaughter Thou have released a 7" version of their 'Anzac Hammer' EP, which contains four tracks from the CD, and costs $15. It can be obtained from the band themselves, or Plague Promotions (plaguepromotions@hotmail.com).
Behind Crimson Eyes will be doing the Adelaide leg of their
national Destroy Music Tour, their all-ages show here taking
place at Fowlers Live on Fri 12 Aug, and also featuring I Killed
The Prom Queen, The Getaway Plan and Miles Away. Behind Crimson
Eyes have also made available a free MP3 of their song Empty

Melbourne band Befallen will be playing their first show here on Sat 13 Aug at Fowlers Live, with support from Imminent Psychosis, Omnium and Murder Hill. Doors open at 7 PM for this licensed all-ages show.
On Sun 14 Aug, local television programme AWESAM TV will be holding an all-ages metal and punk fundraising event entitled 'Sacrificial Sunday Roast'. Held at Jive and commencing at 2:30 PM, the show will feature Burn The Ashes, December In Ruins, 21 Division, Lycosa, Raven Black Night, Murder Hill and Darklord, and will be filmed by the aforementioned station; rock up and you may end up seeing yourself on TV!
Shai Hulud, a band taking their name from that of the giant
sandworms in Frank Herbert's 'Dune' series, will soon be breaking
up after some ten years in the music game. Before parting ways,
however, they will be doing their first and last Australian
tour, playing a licensed all-ages show here at the Enigma Bar
on Thurs 25 Aug.
In a very silly bit of news from overseas, Black Dahlia Murder's guitarist Brian Eschbach, was recently arrested for indecent exposure at Ozzfest in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Wearing only a towel, Eschbach was filming camcorder footage for a show called 'Uranium' when some cruel soul pulled off the towel in question, causing the unfortunate Eschbach to be immediately pounced upon by police, who dragged him off to a holding cell. Released with a citation about half-an-hour later, Eschbach made the following rather melodramatic statement: "I'd like to start off by saying that it feels good to be free. Of course, it's weird saying that when this incident just draws so much light on how much injustice there is in America, and how much general lack of freedom we really have. But it feels good to be back on tour rocking with my band mates, and word up to all my boys in Cell A, and I hope to see you all again soon." Where's Amnesty International when you need them?
And finally, some very advance notice of a visit here by venerable
Swedish death metal outfit Dismember; this band will be doing
a short four-city tour - the "Australia Terror Tour" (quick,
someone call ASIO!) - towards the end of October, playing here
at Fowlers Live on Fri 28 Oct.
