Bigdog records, loudly, proudly and profoundly presents Chris SU and SKC on Thur 28 July at Chemistry. These are the guys behind such dancefloor-shattering d'n'b tunes like Solaris Theme and Nightcry tearing up dancefloors across the globe. There'll be local support by MPK, Patch and Fiction, plus all the usual Chemistry residents.

Adelaide has had a Trance night last a whole year! This is a phenomenal achievement for the Echo boys, and for a job well done they're inviting you to the party. DJs Solace, Logik, Brett James, Mr S, and RE will be dropping the greatest and latest in Trance, so get down to Black Cat on Fri 29 July to help the boys celebrate!

One of the hip-hop scene's truly legendary live acts, The Roots will be playing Thebarton Theatre on Sun 31 July. Voted one of the "Twenty Greatest Live Acts in the World" by Rolling Stone readers, since coming together in 1987 The Roots have achieved credibility and respect for their groundbreaking musical genius. Their pending show will see a two-hour musical journey through funk, jazz, rock and hip hop. Witness The Roots full line up on stage: Ahmir ?uestlove Thompson (musical director/ drums), Tarik "Black Thought" Trotter (lead mc), Leonard "Hub" Hubbard (bass), James "Kamal" Gray (keyboards), Kirk "Cap'n Kirk" Douglas (guitar), Frank "Knuckles" Walker (percussion) and Maimouna Youssef (vocals).

Earth will be shattered on Fri 5 Aug by the thumping bass of the mighty WA d'n'b trio Pendulum. They're gearing up to release their long awaited debut album 'Hold Your Colour' on Adam F's influential Breakbeat Kaos label. They'll be swinging it with the finest selection of beats, alongside Adelaide legends John Doe, MPK, Patch, Harass, with G Swift & Xpress on the mic. We couldn't squeeze it in this issue, but read Indy Lin's interview with Pendulum online at dbmagazine.com.au!

Speaking of Patch, he's one of the Top 5 Adelaide DJs in the inthemix's 50. Brendon came top in SA, and 25th overall, and was followed by JosH at no 2 and 26, then Patch, Mr S and Sarez from the Riverland. It's nice to see a good representation of Adelaide's style! The top 5 for the entire poll were from NSW (not surprising since ITM is so Sydney-centric), with honours taken out by Kid Kenobi, who has now won the poll three times running, Nik Fish, Mark Dynamix, Bexta and Ajax. An inthemix CD mixed by Illya (NSW) & Boogs (Melb) will be released in conjunction to the parties, the Adelaide leg happening late August with Bexta.
