Die! Die! Die!Die! Die! Die!
Die! Die! Die!
Unstable Ape/Stomp

It all started when I spied, on a CD cover in the racks, a scribbled mass and the words 'Die! Die! Die!'. I decided I'd give it a go. You know when you hear something totally new, without having any preconceived ideas about it, and then get so excited that it doesn't leave your DiscMan for weeks? The feeling of falling in love with music all over again? Well, Die! Die! Die! were swiftly added to my ever-growing list of New Favourite Bands, and I haven't even seen them live yet.

What fine young men these lads from NZ are, and such fine digestible chaos I've not heard since the likes of Les Savvy Fav or Whirlwind Heat. Excited yet? You should be. A band that belong in the depths of Seas Gallery, Die! Die! Die! give energy itself a run for its money; how apt that there is a power socket in the background of their media release photo. It seems knives and toasters were the inspirations behind these six volatile two-minute spasms disguise themselves so well as songs.

Die! Die! Die! have found the elusive edge of chaos that lies between complacent music for the masses and something so ridiculous that you couldn't follow it if you were dragged behind it with a rope. You could either dance or have an epileptic fit at a Die! Die! Die! show and no one would be the wiser. That's the way music should be.

With the release of an LP via the very able hands of one Mr. Steve Albini on the horizon, what more can I say than, 'Viva Die! Die! Die!'
