The Singles

Apparently it's not a 'Best Of', it's just a 'Collection of Singles': whatever makes you happy. Hence there's not much to say about 'The Singles' because you can't blame the selection of tracks on anybody but the public that bought and requested the singles in the first place (How many times do you have to hear Where's Your Head At? before you get over it?). Hence there is little variety: they're all club tracks, they're all sure-fire winners, and they've all been absolutely flogged on radio. So, just in case you haven't heard these tracks enough, here's the perfect opportunity to hear them all again in one sitting.

Oh, I mock and I belittle the world of Basement Jaxx fans, but when it comes to chopping the chickens I'm as every bit a listener as the next person. Having said that, 15 Basement Jaxx tracks in a row is not my idea of a party, but as a CD to put on in the mix it will suit most crowds.

As on any 'Best Of' - ahem, sorry, 'Singles Collection' - there are two new tracks, presumably to make the CD worthwhile to those devoted fans who already own the singles. U Don't Know Me is a 'rockier' (by Basement Jaxx standards) track complete with sassy lyrics while Oh My Gosh sticks to the tried and true disco formula and, as such, is virtually indistinguishable from their other singles.
