Prize Frenzy™!

You'd think that the mere act of giving free things away would soften Frenzor™s black and steely heart, perhaps even give wing to a new spirit of generosity. Ah, if only it was that simple: if anything this fortnightly outpouring of free stuff has hardened him, filing his hatred of humankind to a sharpened point. And any second he'll plunge that point into humanity's unsuspecting eye, sending a geyser of blood and fluid spurting forth even as our terrified screams are lost beneath the basso rumble of Frenzor™'s infernal laughter... Look, you know the risks, but if you're a devil-may-care fool who cares less about your own safety than scoring a free CD, you may as well call 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 1 July and swap a healthy eyeball for the following...

1. By the time you read this chances are that every Interpol ticket in South Australia will be spoken for and there will be crying in the streets. However, Handsome Tours have sweetly allocated us three doubles for their show at Heaven on Fri 22 July, so you'll be able to laugh at those non-ticketed people with complete equanimity. It's the only way they'll learn.

2. Or perhaps you'd like to get along to the State Theatre's production of 'Frozen'? They've very kindly slipped us two double passes for the Tues 12 July and Tues 19 July performances, because they're just so darn nice.

3. Doves are making their first ever Adelaide visit on Tues 26 July for a show at Heaven, and we have five doubles thanks to Fantin Comes Alive. Yes, we're getting in early, since this is another one of those is-going-to-sell-out shows.

4. Fancy getting along to see Ed Kuepper and Jeffrey Wegener at the Governor Hindmarsh on Thurs 7 July? Then you'll to grab one of the two double passes dedicated to that very purpose, thanks to Feel Presents.

5. The St Kilda Film Festival is hitting Adelaide on Fri 8 July and Sat 9 July and Chrissie Vincent Publicity think you should go. That's why there are five double passes up for grabs!

6. We've acquired a couple of pre-release copies of Tidal's new magnum opus. 'A Product Of Hate' isn't even in stores until Mon 4 July, but you can scare one up days early thanks to the band and Brandon Promotions.

7. 21 years of Hard Ons! That's reason for celebration - and Scorpion Entertainment want to facilitate that by sending you along to their Enigma Bar gig on Sat 2 July. Aren't they nice?

8. Ross Noble has a thoroughly pleasant chat with Wade Howland about his brand new DVD 'Unrealtime': check the interview in this issue, then grab a copy thanks to Jane Intini and ACMEC.

9. Megadeth's Dave Mustaine talks the talk with our Matt Redmond in this issue, and SonyBMG have slung us a few copies of 'The System Has Failed' to celebrate.

10. Ryan Smith reckons that Motion City Soundtrack's 'Commit This To Memory' would be just about the best thing since sliced bread, if bread came in musical form: read his interview with the band in this issue, then grab a copy of the CD thanks to Shock.

10. Since we're currently putting the next MISA compilation together, how about grabbing a pack of the last three to get you up to date? That's 58 brilliant tracks by SA bands and artists, many of which are completely exclusive to MISA, from the likes of Bad Girls Of The Bible, Wolf & Cub, Thinktank, Star 10 Hash, The New Pollutants, Brunatex, August Falls and freakloads more.

Online Only Frenzy™!

Foo Fighters 'In Your Honor' is this issue's 'We Liked It And You Will Too' and the Frenztron6000™ has "convinced" SonyBMG to part with a copy of the limited edition version of the CD (with bonus DVD, no less) and a Foo Fighters t-shirt: All you have to do is answer this idiotically simple question: what's a Foo Fighter? First correct answer to andrew@dbmagazine.com..au gets the booty.
