Prize Frenzy™!

You think you've got the blues? You don't even know the blues. Sometimes the weight of the world rests heavy on ol' Frenzor™'s ample, scaly shoulders. Sometimes it feels like he's been down so long that it looks like up to him, not to mention that he woke up this morning to find that all he's got is his guitar, the power to destroy cities with his mind, and a bad case of the blues. This week is one of those times, so if you fancy that you hear the mournful wail of a blues harp on the wind, don't fret none: it's just Frenzor™ making it talk and telling it like it is (and you'd best run like hell since it'll most likely be followed up with a barrage of fireballs). Anyway, before he wanders down that lonely old road, he's thoughtfully prepared a range of predominantly curse-free goodies for Prize Frenzy™: all you have to do is call 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 22 April and tell Frenzette™ what you'd fancy (and also what's cooking):

1. Those Grinspoon types are on the cover this issue and Pat Davern has a most civilised chat with Nina Bertok in this issue. What's more, Eldorado has very kindly extricated a couple of double passes to their show at the EntCent with Shihad, The Cops and Grand Fatal on Sun 24 April!

2. Andrew P Street reactivates his teenage crush on Stacie Mistysyn from 'Degrassi Jr High' in this issue, and you can do the same by grabbing a copy of the first season on DVD, thanks to Force Entertainment.

3. Ann Marie Sosnowski chats with Snap To Zero all about their new album 'Where Is The Free World?' which is getting a launch at the Adelaide UniBar on Sat 30 April, and the band have provided us with a very special pack containing a copy of the CD, a double pass to the show, a t-shirt and a hat. Neat!

4. Blueline Medic and Ted Leo & The Pharmacists are about to do an entire national tour together and have done a split CD to celebrate: representatives for both speak to representatives of dB Magazine in this issue, and Shock have celebrated this summit with five copies of their split CD.

5. Illicit Eve tell Steve Jones all about their debut album 'Element Eleven' this fortnight and have also kindly slung us a couple of copies thereof for your listening pleasure.

6. Or maybe you'd rather catch the highly acclaimed 'The Sea Inside' (from director Alejandro Amenabar, who helmed 'The Others'? Yeah, you totally do - and Fosters Workshop PR can facilitate that with a handful of in-season double passes.

7. Last issue Wade Howland told you that the new Queens Of The Stone Age album 'Lullabies To Paralyse' was another solid piece of rockery: and you can hear exactly how solid for yourself by grabbing a copy, thanks to UMG.

8. Got a thang that needs shaking? You'll be wanting to get along to Bluejuice at the Rhino Room on Thurs 28 April then, and we've got two double passes thanks to the band and Remote Control.

9. Perhaps you'd fancy seeing Dennis Quaid, Topher Grace and Scarlett Johansson in 'In Good Company'? Again, the lovely folks at Foster Workshop PR have handed over some in-season doubles, because they're so nice.

10. Architecture In Helsinki are back, baby, with a new album entitled 'In Case We Die' which is the subject of this issue's chat with Eddie Chan. What's more, we've got two copies of said album thanks to Remote Control and the band.

Online Only Frenzy™!

Oh, the Frenztron5000™ has gone above and beyond this time! Thanks to Pulp Fiction Comics and Buena Vista films, we've got three freakin' incredible packs to celebrate the upcoming film of 'The Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy': each pack contains a copy of the novel, a t-shirt, a movie poster, a Hitch Hiker's towel (naturally) and a double pass to the swanky preview screening on Wed 29 April! Hence we want to make sure they go to good homes, so we want answers to the following questions: first three correct emails to andrew@dbmagazine.com.au on Wed 20 April will get the booty:

1. Name the five books in the Hitch Hiker's series.

2. Mark Wing-Davey played what character in both the original radio series and the TV show?

3. What is "Milliways"?

4. Martin Freeman, who plays Arthur Dent in the movie, is best known for his role in what UK sitcom?

5. What band did Douglas Adams appear on stage with in 1994 (and even played guitar for a couple of songs)?
